Coaching Tip?

Besides playing in commissioner mode and reducing player skill to zero how can I tell a player to drop a certain pitch?

For example if I have a RP who, for some reason, has a pitch that is rated like 21 and two pitches that are rates 90+... I want that pitcher to just drop the crap pitch, especially if he is a seasoned vet. The pitch is not going to get any better. If it was a prospect I'd let it ride out to see what happens but those 38 year old dudes need to give it up already.

Also, if I have a prospect that is a 2b for example and my minor leagues are freaking full of 2b how can I tell my minor league team to play him at 3b and develop his skills there? Do I just lock the "Force player to play at this position?"

(Also, I can't believe I joined this board in 2002 and have my ICQ handle somehow still enabled... it's been a minute since I posted here lol)

Yes you can force start that player at that position or you can change him and make him a 3b and they will use him that way. As far as the dropping a pitch goes, other than deleting it in the editor, I doubt you can tell him to not throw it. Don't think that there is something for that

Thanks.

If there's a way to make a recommendation it would be for stuff like that. As a coach I could tell my guy if he ever throws that pitch again he's dropped to A ball. It would be cool to be able to coach a player like that and tell him to drop it.

FWIW, the way OOTP works, a guy with 2 95 pitches and a 21 pitch is strictly better (and will have better results) than if he just had those two 95 pitches.
