Why do you hate Buster Posey?

.302/.372/.460 Lifetime.... have had him for five seasons, and he is always a .200 hitter.

Why is Shonei a 100, but his ratings on both sides make him average in the game?

Ross Barnes, BABIP of 100, Contact 92, Eye,100....has never exceeded .250 for me.

Why do 100 cards often not meet expectations from season to season?

I'd love to be Mr. Sarcasm and ask, "Doesn't everyone hate Buster Posey?" but he's just too nice a guy for that...a total class act.

Some very good cards just suck. Conversely, a couple years back there was a bronze Aparicio you could train at any position but C and he'd field well enough to forget about his anemic bat. There are reasons for odd performance, but it's far above my pay grade.

There are some days I can't help but believe there is some hidden, secret rating on each card we have no way of seeing - and Posey, in no way, is a Diamond 95 card, even with his 102 Defense rating.

For three seasons, Posey was my #1 catcher with deGrom, Drysdale, Santana, Sheets, and Verlander in the rotation. We sucked (185-282) and below is Posey's contribution.

To be fair to the game company, the card clearly says that it's based on his 2016 season, which was his worst full season OPS+ before age 31.

If there were no inflated peak cards in the game and each player’s best card was there best season, then these cards would perform better.

I know! I now have a Gehrig that can't hit. When you pull a high-rated card and its stats are in the 100s for skills and it sucks anyway.... that's a hit in the crotch. Especially if you paid for it.
