Buy prices at 1001 or 1100 or 4001

What is the point of that? Who wouldn't either keep the card for later sales or just quick sell, because you end up with the same points unless the buy price is more than 10 percent over the cost?

It's annoying to see so many IMHO.

Because some people like to be nice and help others with completing the live missions? Not everyone is a bean counter.

It's not bean-counting to want the value for your cards. And it isn't always cards in missions. If I have a card that's a 5, and it is selling for 1000 and I see someone wanting to pay 100, I will do it, cuz I t think some of those mission prices get ridiculous. There are ways to help where it isn't irritating.

Why is someone's buy order irritating?

I started a 4th team and for an experiment I wanted to see how cheaply I could complete the live missions. I found I could buy most cards for 6, 26, or 101 if I used buy orders and waited. It's not any extra work either. It's 3 clicks to buy it now and 3 clicks to place a buy order.

It keeps cards in circulation rather than having your mother throw out the shoebox with a Mickey Mantle in it.

The buy orders make perfect sense. If someone else is willing to sell low, so much the better for you.

What I like to see, though, are reasonable buy orders on cards I'm seeking to sell like, say, a buy order of 1500 for a card with an L10 of 1700. If I'm willing to sell for a little less then it's win-win and also helps to force prices down as time goes by. I very often fill those orders because it avoids the problem of being underbid by one point, which is what really annoys me about auctions.

I can tell you why I personally do it:

When I have a card I would otherwise quicksell, and I don't need the money right now, I'll often list it for 1 over the minimum price so that someone can get it for as cheap as possible.

But then don't you wind up with fewer points than if you had quicksold it? Like wouldn't the 10% sale fees knock it under the quicksell price?

No, you can never get less than the QS price.

Huh, well I guess I never tried it. Once the sell price was under 110% of the QS price I always just QS. I suppose the real question would be why anyone would sell a gold card for between 1,002 and 1,100 then since they would receive the same amount for it.

It's my pet peeve of the game. Not what the players do, but that OOTP Developments Company assesses 100% tax on sales within 10% of the QS price.

I don't blame you for thinking this!

I have to admit - My first two years playing the game, I also wondered why in the heck people would sell cards for 4,001 and LOSE money after the 10% tax vs. the quick sell value. Didn't make any sense. Then one day, I decided to fill one of those orders to see what happens - and I got the 4,000, same as the quick sell, lol.
