backup crash and crazy schedule change
I just finished year 25 of a fictional sim and upon doing the end of season backup, the game crashed. When I was finally able to get it reloaded, my sim had jumped ahead several months, bypassing almost the entire off-season, including arbitration and FA dates. I can't pull up my last save any longer, which was done after the last game of the playoff, (won the WS).
Now, my schedule has somehow been shuffled around, with roster expansion, trading deadline, opening day and the regular season ending all now listed as occurring on 4/1. The playoffs are now listed as starting on 4/3 and no playoffs are listed at season's end. I tried to play ahead to see if it would self-correct, but it did not. I have rebooted from the backup to the pre-season and the same issues happened. Does anyone have any ideas of how I could fix this? I hate to lose this save, but can't seem to find a way to reset the proper dates. |

I hate to ask, but do you have any prior saves? It sounds like something got corrupted in the last backup, and I would have no clue how to un-corrupt that. But if you have a prior save, the issue may be absent there, when you load it. Hoping that would only involve a few games, not your entire post-season. [And I gather you do not have any issues with storage capacity for your saves, which after twenty-five years could be very large files, I'm sure.]. I have a fear of this same thing, and that makes me save and backup quite frequently, just in case something goes awry.
