Salary Cap Question
I left FHM a few editions ago because of static salary caps within the game. I loved the game other than that.
Does FHM9 (or even FHM10 information) handle the salary cap any differently than FHM6 or 7? Does it change year to year? |

No, but you can manually edit the cap and floor on July 1 of each year.

That is unfortunate. That was the same answer for previous years, and I found that when the change was made, it would never save, so the cap was not changed. Very disappointing that they can't figure out how to automate the cap to either stay flat or randomly increase year over year.

Instead, the game sets one salary cap. If you change it, you only have a single chance each season to get it changed. You might be able to, or you might make the change and the system still reverts it. I quit playing over the salary cap issues with FHM 6. I was hoping that they would fix the issue, but it seems that they won't resolve what should be a simple update to the system. |

Having the salary cap dynamic or static is a developers' choice (and I think it's the right one as I'm sure it will cause more harm than good). With that being said, "you might make the change and the system still reverts it" is just not true. If it happens on your game, fill a bug report because it's not how it's supposed to be working.

Also, it's important to remember that whilst something might appear to be 'one or two lines of code' from the outside - a piece of software like FHM has many many moving parts when it comes to finances, so whilst something might seem simple it's important to consider the deeper implications of changing something like that and being cautious of further bugs or issues arising down the line - which is not so simple a process to solve. |

Not to mention that in real life, the cap doesn't automaticly change, or even change by the same amount. It's a decision made by the comssioner's office.
