Asahi3 Moving to OOTP 24

Openings in Asahi3 as we prepare to make the move to OOTP24. Currently in v22 and planning to move to v24 for our next season which will begin around 4/25/23. New GM's are welcome to join now and finish out the current season (will need v22) or can join now and wait for the new season to start in v24.

Asahi3 has been around for about 100 seasons and we have a great group of active GM's but have a few openings to fill after falling 2 versions behind.

OOTP Version: moving to OOTP24

Players: Real (Random Debut database)

# Of Teams: 30 teams - Basic MLB setup but with a unique playoff (12 teams in)

Sim Days: 4 times a week during the regular season (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat), faster during the off season.

Sim times usually around 8am MST M-W-F and noon on Sat.

League Time Per Sim: 15 day sims during regular season

Current Season: 2087 (about halfway through the '87 season)

1-10 Ratings Scale
Scouts and Full Coaches turned on
Lotto for top 5 picks
Low injury setting

Just messaged you. Asahi3 has about a 100 year history but you'll be joining for the start of the 2088 season which will be our first in ootp24.

We just finished our final season in v22 and are now ready to move to v24. We are currently paused for a week while we fill vacancies so this is your chance to join and get set up without the league moving around you.

A little history about this league...

The league was founded by me and some friends back in 1999 as "Asahi League". It consisted of roughly 10 owners or so competing in the old "Yahoo Fantasy Baseball" format for prizes and whatnot...mostly whatnot. We sucked. LOL. We discovered OOTP 5 a few years earlier but mostly just dabbled in it. Then came OOTP 6, or 6.12 if I remember correctly. One of the most refined simulation games on the planet at the time, as well as being incredibly stable, OOTP got us to jump ship from Yahoo...and fantasy formats all together. In the fall of 2003, we set the groundwork for what would become Asahi2 League. By consensus, and due to our ages, we all agreed on 1960 as the season we would start.

I, as a life-long Dodger fan, decided to become the GM of the rival Giants...partially to allow myself to absorb disappointment of not winning a championship anytime soon, but also as a learning experience as to what it might be like to be a Giants fan. Funny thing is, my Giants won in 1960 but we screwed up in the expansion draft the next season. We forgot to protect Orlando Cepeda! LOL.

Anyway, Asahi2 had a successful run from 1960 til we caught up with the present, which was 2011, at which point I resigned as commissioner. I'm not sure who worked as commissioner from that point to today's Asahi3, but I am truly grateful to all those who participated back then and I am truly happy to see that Asahi3 is thriving even now!! Keep it up!!!

By the way "Asahi" comes from the name of the beer that we drink over here in Japan. We originally wanted to call our Yahoo fantasy league "Beer League" but "Asahi" sounded better.
