Custom Game - Foreigners - Worked on previous version
So I have Custom Game with Relegation Leagues and I just expanded one of my leagues (Great Britain + Ireland) to have multiple nations. I have foreign limit set to 0.
First years I had teams only from England and that worked fine. Now I have also teams from Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland. I also have set Region = "EUROPE: United Kingdom" and also changed Nation to Ireland. Seems like foreigner limit only affect teams from Ireland and if I change nation then those teams from that nation only have foreign limit. On previous versions those combinations worked fine with foreign limit. Tried to made new game with Relegation League with teams from different nation. And that also have same problem. Edit. Seems like normal custom leagues also have this problem. It worked fine on previous version where I had my World League. In FHM9 World League had nation set to Greenland (0 players from Greenland), Region: None. Then foreign players where players that is not from country where team is from and I had league where teams where from over 30 different countries. Last edited by Lappaacco; 12-01-2023 at 08:07 PM. |

I think I know what happened there: we had to make a change to the way the foreigners rule is applied to a team that is not part of the league's main nation (it was creating a problem with the KHL's roster rules.) The way it works now is that any teams whose nation doesn't match the main nation get their foreigner limit set by a league rule called "Foreigners dressed (team is not from main nation)". But that field isn't editable in custom games, and defaults to 99, so all the non-Irish teams in your case have no foreign limit.
I'll ask for that field to be made editable in the next update so you can set it to 0, but for now the best workaround I can think of would be to leave the nation on England and region to UK, but temporarily edit the location of any non-English teams to London (or any English city.) That way the foreign player limit won't be overridden by the one you can't see. |

Then problem is that, foreign limit only take League Nation (it does not even watch league region) and I can't have scottish, welsh or irish players and I don't have enough English players in the game. So it won't work.
But I can keep playing my Stantard or Historical save while waiting to update on this.So no need to workaround right now. Last edited by Lappaacco; 12-02-2023 at 08:28 AM. |
