Ported online league file crashes when using 2D engine
We have recently ported over our online league from FHM9 to FHM10. We also wanted to switch the sim engine from Classic to 2D, but simming games using the 2D engine causes an instant crash. Doesn't matter if viewing the games or simming them, or using the different simulating options (all games 2D, own leagues 2D, etc.).
I have tried simming ahead in the old, pre-port FHM9 file and the 2D engine runs fine in that file. This leads me to believe that either (a) something went wrong when I ported the file from FHM9 to FHM10, or (b) changes have been made to the 2D engine mechanics for FHM10 that are not backward compatible. Not sure if this is a known issue or if it is a bug with our file specifically? For now we have kept the league running on the Classic engine, which runs fine. Would be great to know if this is a fixable issue and we can start running on the 2D engine at some point, or if we will have to keep running on Classic. I have DM'd our file to Jeff previously, we have since moved ahead in our league so that file is outdated but could still be used for troubleshooting. Can't think of anything that wouldn't be backwards-compatible; the major 2D change (addition of the rover) wouldn't have affected that save at all. We'll take a look and see if we can figure out why it's doing that.

Yeah, good news, it's just some missing files that are normally added when updating a save from 9 to 10, but may have been lost after that depending on when exactly the new league file was created after the conversion.
Just copy all 8 set_play_xxx.dat files (technically there's only two missing, but to be safe do all 8) from FHM10's \quickstart_games\Current.quick folder into your save folder and it should work without a crash after that. |
