Old Pitchers Losing Way Too Much Velo?
Hey guys, was playing around on my sim and noticed that in the span of one year Sonny Gray lost around 6mph of velo. Figured I'd look at other older pitchers as well, DeGrom went from 99-101 to 90-92. Verlander also lost 6 mph. I get that older pitchers losing a bit of velocity is maybe normal but 6-9 mph in a year seems maybe a bug? This is on default aging settings.

I personally have never agreed with this either and edit it back to something I can live with.
However, I remember this being a "feature" for quite a long time, and I don't know if they see it the same way as you and I |

Yeah I mean I get that it should decrease slightly maybe, I figured 9 mph in a year was a bug but maybe it's just how the game works -- hadn't noticed it before but maybe that's just my lack of awareness lol

Not everyone gets this and I’ve seen mid 30s guys still throwing in the high 90s. It does tend to happen overall and so some guys can have huge, Felix Hernandez style dropoffs.

Hmm okay, thanks for the insights.
I definitely just haven't been paying enough attention in past sims then -- my apologies for putting this in bug reports! |
