Move a player to a another team

I am doing a historical where I am Commish. Focusing on the Athletics

Playing the 1902 Athletics Nap Lajoie was forced to go to another team. I tried to reverse that by going into the editor and assigning him back to the Athletics however the changes don't stick. What could I be doing incorrectly?

Hard to say without more details. Reply back with more info about your settings and specifically what steps you are taking to place him back on the Athletics

I think I may have figured it out. I had historical transactions marked on and historical lineups marked on. So when I moved Nap Lajoie back to the Athletics, as soon I as started the schedule up Nap reverted back to Cleveland.
