Developmental Training--Running
Running is one of the areas that we can try to improve using the individual player's development training screen.
What aspect of running do you think this refers to? It would seem that it would be more likely to improve the "baserunning" rating, rather than "speed." I see an awful lot of baserunners not taking extra bases, even with two outs, when I look at game logs. Developing baserunning might be a way to improve on that, if that's actually what's going on with development. |

I think you're right. OOTP seems to isolate baserunning as a skill independent of stealing, dependent on speed but also relying on factors (taking a lead, avoiding getting picked off) that can be taught.

Base-stealing is all about base stealing Running mechanics is about speed. Hope that helps. |
