Creating Jomboy's 156 Game Schedule

I built a version of Jomboy's 156 game schedule, but I am getting a parse error whenever I try to upload it. This is the first time I have created a schedule, so I'd appreciate any guidance folks have.

I think the top line is accurate (Yes to InterLeague, No to Balanced Schedule, and 2 leagues and 4 divisions of 8 teams.) I also included an all star game - I don't know if that is part of my problem. Thanks all for any help/guidance!

I got it to work with 4 changes.

#1 - in line 2, remove the quotation mark before allstar_game_day

What you have now: "allstar_game_day="95"
What it should be: allstar_game_day="95"

Fixing this will remove the parsing error.

#2 - Update the league structure to match your setup:

"ILY_BGN_G156_SL1D4T4T4T4T4SL2D4T4T4T4T4"

Two subleagues, each with 4 divisions; each division has 4 teams.

Fixing this will remove the error message about not matching the league structure.

#3 - remove the empty 700+ rows at the bottom.

#4 - fill in the data for the All Star game:

<GAME day="95" time="1305" away="-2" home="-1" type="4"/>

^^^ These were both attempts to address an error message stating that team ID cannot be less than 1.

Thanks Light Grenade. I appreciate the quick feedback and experience. I guess I should clarify - I am going for a 4 division, 8 team set-up. I thought I had it set up correctly in the heading, but when I try to load it in game i get a message that the structure doesn't match. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks! (And I'm sure these are all basic questions - I appreciate the help in getting it settled.)

Well, one of the problems is that there's team ID's from 1 through 32. That indicates a 32-team league, which is why I thought you were doing 2 subleagues x 4 divisions x 4 teams.

Am I understanding correctly that you want 8 teams *total* split up into 4 divisions?

I'm sorry I was unclear - I'm looking for four 4 divisions of 8 teams each - so an AL East, AL West, NL East, NL West, each with 8 teams.

In that case I think you want like this:

type="ILY_BGN_G156_SL1_D1_T8_D2_T8_SL2_D1_T8_D2_T8 _C_"

I think the underscores are optional, but having them makes for easier reading. The "C" part as the end allows for a comment afterward.

I tried all of the changes suggested above and it still had a parsing error. Has anybody been able to get it to work?

I'm assuming that you saved this as an LSDL file rather than trying to get the XL spreadsheet to work, correct? Because that might be your problem right there.

EDIT: I got it to work by incorporating the changes that lightgrenade07 and GMO made. Make sure that you don't have anything after the C_ in the league type - copy GMO's example exactly.

EDIT EDIT: Also, you may want to double-check your start day. Sub-League 1 has its travel day on a Wednesday but Sub-League 2 has its travel day on a Sunday. Is that what you wanted? Travel days are usually Monday and Thursday.

EDIT EDIT EDIT: Doesn't this schedule fit your parameters?

I did not, I'm a newb.

Will do.

Jomboy's vision was one league has every Monday off and the other league has every Thursday off as travel days.

Not exactly, no. 2 subleagues, 4 divisions of 4 teams each. Static days off for each league. Each league plays interleague games against half of the other league in alternating years.
