Multiple MVP winner, generational player only seeking one year contracts between $10-$13mil?
I run just a standard MLB league that started in 2025. My first draft pick ended up being an absolute stud and was tearing up the league - multiple MVPs. As a GM, I then took a role with another team. One year later, that same player hit free agency. Ever since then he's only demanded contracts between $10-$13mil for one year. Every year its the same thing. The way he has played he could of easily gotten $50mil/year on a long term contract.
I'm not sure why this happening. Each offseason I'm tempted to sign him, but part of me feels like it would be cheating since his value is sooo much higher.
Has anyone run into this or have an idea how to rectify it?
Thanks in advance!
