An ongoing play-by-play issue in OOTP that has never been addressed
Throughout the years in different releases of OOTP, including OOTP26, I've noticed something in the play-by-play text that has been reported in the past but never addressed. It's something that can be seen when a game is played out in pitch-by-pitch mode.
In each pitcher-batter matchup after the first pitch has occurred, in the following pitches, here's what I've noticed...
1. At the start of the pitch, if the play-by-play text shows some kind of dialogue, then you already know in advance that the pitch will result in either a ball (from ball 1 to ball 3) or a strike (from strike 1 to strike 2).
2. At the start of the pitch, if the play-by-play text only shows "...", then you already know in advance that the pitch will result in either a strikeout, a walk, a hit or a foul ball.
This has been reported in the past and has never been addressed. It would sure be nice if this matter would finally be addressed relating to after the first pitch to a batter so that the dialogue or lack of dialogue at the start of a pitch, again in pitch-by-pitch mode, would not tip off what is about to happen.
Thanks.
