Some things I like (and dislike) about this year's version
Variants seem to have the amount of potential improvement proportioned to level. Also the variant marking seems to be working, I have seen cards 100K bid and others trading barely above the minimum.
Card art is much better in terms of readability when GO is available. Clubhouse stars are a good idea. They're presumably going to be able to be used to buy Carlton and Cano all year if those cards are required for missions. The level overall rewards for the live missions are much, much better than in previous years. And the bad: Live cards are very confusing with the photos often two or 3 franchises behind for the guys who were traded during the 2024 season. The Card Shop glitch is concerning. I have several times accidentally bought two of the same card for my FTP teams. The Braves' live mission rewards are strange. Carty (97) and Giles (98) are both higher OVR than the NL East level 2 topper Glavine (96). Too many of the lower tier lives are rated at positions they will never play. I have a live Bronze team where every hitter is rated at 1B and most are also rated as pitchers. |

Clubhouse stars are the key item here. In previous versions, we'd reach points where completing a mission with tournament cards would cost three or more times as much as simply purchasing the mission topper, and it would sometimes be only a few weeks before this played out. I'm hoping that tournament stars are a complete replacement for tournament cards so that we won't see launch day Perfects going from 25,000 to 250,000 points because they popped up in a late-cycle mission.
