How To Import Your Save From OOTP 24 On Mac

Hi all,

Mac uses a system where they compartmentalize files so that you won't be able to find your OOTP24 save in OOTP 25 to import it initially.

No worries though, it's pretty easy to work around this.

Here's how:

In OOTP 24, click on "Settings," then the "Troubleshooting" tag. Then click on "Open folder containing saved games."
In OOTP 25, do the same.
Copy the game you'd like to import from the OOTP 24 saved games folder to the OOTP 25 saved games folder.
Now, when you try and import the game in OOTP 25, you should be able to see it in the OOTP 25 saved games folder. (You still have to import it for it to work in OOTP 25.)

Then you should be good!

Import not working.

Hello. Followed these directions to import from 24 to 25 and when I click import there are no leagues available to import.

EDIT: Think I found it by clicking "Favorites" folder.

What about the problem of Historical Games not finding the Historical DB when imported on a Mac?

You can change the path in the league settings, in the "Historical Tab" under the "Historical Rookie Settings" where it says Database Path.

I think I found it.

OOTP is still using the path they used to use (with com.ootpdev... etc. in the path)

It is now ...Library/Containers/OOTP Baseball 25/Data/Application Support/Out of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 25/stats

I will let you know if it works and this could be flagged for other Mac users....

It does not work. Plus the standard DB path still uses the com.... path, even though that isn't what I see on my computer.

I tried to change the Historical one and it wouldn't let me, saying that it isn't valid, even though I am looking right at the path.

That wasn't it. The path showing includes a folder that uses a display name.

The correct path appears to be the path you were using. Meaning that nothing explains why it is giving me a 'Historical db not found' error.

Very frustrated. Try the options set out above re OOTP24 to 25 on a Mac. When I try to open the league in 25 after copying I get the same error message, you have to import from 24 which doesn't happen since the containers hide the folders. This is really stupid that a clear set of directions isn't here.

Posting a solution I used here since I just ran into the same problem and remembered that there was a workaround I learned about a few seasons back.

I had to copy and paste the OOTP 24 .lg folder to a different location (I used the Application folder) that OOTP 25 would recognize.

So instead of trying to import from the default directory, I chose Drives-->[File System] then \Applications and my copied .lg folder was right there amongst all my apps. Import was a breeze from that point on.

Hope this helps someone in the same situation!

Once you move it to your 26 saved games folder, are you still choosing the import option when you load the game?

You can't just move it over and load it, it still needs to be imported.
