Here's the cause: If "Use Trade Deadline Day Setup" is not set to "NO" when you disable trading, then you can't progress past the trading deadline day. It gives an error. This is only tricky because the "Use Trade Deadline Day Setup" becomes hidden when you disable trading. You can get past the error by temporarily enabling trading to set this value to "NO", but it this workaround may not be immediately obvious to maybe a more casual gamer (are there casual OOTP gamers? idk)
