Making fragile starter a closer

So I've got a starter who's pitching great when he healthy but his first 2 seasons he made 28 and 18 starts, and a setback has him sitting his 3rd season(after I gave him an extension, ouch). His ratings profile says he could be an elite closer, 2 super pitches( both 18/20, with 3 or 4 lesser pitches, will those help, hurt, or do nothing for a reliever?), 11/20 stamina(weak for a starter but crazy good for a reliever), and he's hovered around 8 k/9 while starting. My concern is the expected role starting rotation might drag his morale, make him suck, and that drag his morale more, but I also don't want a starter giving me 15 starts a season while I keep my fingers crossed that at least a few of them are in September/October. Anyone been in this spot playing 25 or 26, how did the move go? Did they eventually change their expected role from rotation to closer?
