Cincinnati Reds - 90-72 - 1st Place in the NL Central
The Reds are the current National League Champions and lost out in a thrilling 6 game series to the New York Yankees in the 2053 World Series. Their claim to fame is their offence, ranking top 3 in all of baseball in just about every category and lean the majors with 359 homeruns. They had 5 players hit 30+ HR with two (RF Jonathan Salaiz 49 and 1B Jeff O'Neil 54) hitting over 40. On the pitching side their ace is 27 year old SP Jeremy Stordeur, the former 16th overall pick has won 16 games in each of the last 3 seasons and has had over 200 strike outs in 2 of the last 3 years. The Reds are very much in win now mode with the 29th rated farm and no player ranked int he top 1oo. Financially they are in a great position with the 16th ranked payroll of just over $120,000,000 and a budget of $195,000,000, leaving over $70 million to improve a team that was 2 wins away from a World Series championship in 2053.

Nashville Stars - 75-87 - last in the NL East (23 games back of Washington)
Nashville is on the other end of the spectrum in comparison to the Reds. They are in the middle of a rebuild with a number of promising prospects and another top 10 pick coming in the 2054 First Year Player draft. Theuir roster does boast some promising talent including C Alfredo Dicochea who put up 3.3 WAR last year belting 28 HR, 24 year old former #1 prospect 1B Jim Racy who in his rookie season hit .370 with 32 HR and posted a .279 batting average and 24 year old RF Devin Rivas who was the 2053 Rookie of the year, Platinum Stick and All Star this year putting up an impressive 7.3 WAR to lead the National League. Behind their young MLB players the Stars boast the 15th ranked farm system with 5 players ranked in the top 100. They also have a payroll of just over $93 million and a budget of $186 million, leaving a ton of financial flexibility to add to and improve their roster.

Los Angeles Angels - 71-91 - 4th in the AL West 13 games back of Oakland.
The Angels are in the midst of a rebuild but are on the upswing. They have a group of promising young pitching in SP Zaire Coaxum, SP Chris Hoeve and SP Greg Ray and a number of good young bats pushing up to the MLB level including C Chris Lawton who hot .344 in AA this year and LF Juan Lara who also had a good season in AA. The Angels are in a fantastic position financially with a payroll of just $49 million and a budget of $218 million. They have the financial flexibility to do just about anything they want. They are also in a good place down on the farm with the 10th ranked far system placing 3 players in the top 100 and all of them in the top 25. Their highest ranked prospect is 19 year old SP Nate Guckin who was the 2nd overall pick last season and he has the potential to front the Angels rotation for years to come. He comes in at #8 on the MLB top prospects list.
