Anyone doing Batting helmet logos for v27?

OOTP 27 has added the ability for the game to add logos to the batting helmet. The problem is it pulls the logo from the "small logo" box in the uniform screen and some teams don't use this logo on their cap. For more detail here is a link to the relevant post and thread started by cheo25.

I think the only teams that need a logo are the Red Sox, Reds, and Cubs.

I tried dabbling in this for a bit this morning and made the "C" (red C, white border) from the Cubs cap into a150*150 small logo. I think it's ok, but someone who knows what they are doing could probably do better. You'll see there's still a little blue border around the white trim. I don't notice it on the dark standing screen (haven't tried the others). And beings the Cubs helmet is blue it should disappear there too, I think.

I'm including a screenshot of the logo (right click-save image if you want to try it), uniform page (don't know why I get the black screen? but the logs you can see in the small logo box), and standings with my logo. I'm nowhere close to playing out games yet (just started off season from my import) so haven't seen it in a game. I think it's ok on the standings page.

I may try the others later unless someone else comes along and does them. Also if someone wants to clean mine up or makes a better one I won't be offended.

I have a bunch of MLB cap logos I downloaded from somewhere, at some point. Can't remember if it was here or somewhere else, and I'm missing some of the newest logos since it's been at least 10-15 years since these were created. Long way of saying they're not mine. But I am uploading them to my drive, and I'll share when they're all up.

They don't have the 150x150 small logo size, but they should still be good for showing up on the helmets and the standings since I've already tried a few.

Here are the four 1970s versions I've created so far that have the different front panel color. Used the OOTP Uniform Editor with the cap setting and then removed the background behind, letting the team color helmet serve as the background.

They're barely usable for in game, and aren't ideal for sim screens or standings.

Are you sure they added that ability?

The Ballcap logo and Jersey logo boxes were always there in previous versions. IT was never meant for the actual helmet logo unless they changed it this year which I wasn't aware of

They never said anything in the RTR. I only heard of it when cheo25 posted during the beta. I assumed they had added another box, like when they added socks, except for batting helmets. His later post noted it was only using the small logo. I then thought that I wouldn't announce it either if it wasn't a full feature like the caps. But, at least it's something and hopefully leads to getting a "helmet box" in v28.

It is very limiting but at least in a modern game it only requires changing the three I listed above.

I only dabble is historical play and will use one of the Killebrew, Carew, and Oliva Twins' teams of the late 60's early 70's. I'll check back and see what you have if/when I setup that game.

That's some out of the box thinking to get the front panel. Yeah, thinking about them on the standings screen sounds a little cringe worthy. I guess if I were playing with one of the teams with that style I would at least give it a try.

Hoping for a fully functioning helmet box in v28.

I played around with it but I just can't do it. I mean I CAN do it but I play many historic seasons and for me to go through them all just doesn't make sense. This doesn't have to be a project. And the away helmets with some teams will still be off if the home and away caps are different. Here's hoping for it one day.

You'll notice I didn't include the Expos with the other 4 in the previous post. The Expos used white on the full front panel instead of going with a smaller front panel color. And it looked terrible when I tested it. The helmet essentially became white for right-handed batters.



As for the Twins, my logo is missing the navy outline on the white "T." I could have added it, but it would have also made a navy outline around the red "C", and I'm not talented enough to decouple those. This is what it should have looked like:

I finally got around to doing the Reds. Keep in mind if you use this it will also be in your league standings. On the dark skin it looks fine. Haven't tested the others.

I have no idea what game or season that picture is from, but I'm pretty sure he went 3 for 5 that day!

And the Red Sox means all teams have proper batting helmet logos.
And on the dark skin they all look good in the standings too.
