Question In-season trades

I play OOTP Go on my iPad. I’m a relatively new user but not a total rookie; I’ve played through a couple of historical seasons and am currently managing the Oakland Bash Brothers of 1989.

On June 21 of that year, the A’s traded Luis Polonia, Greg Cadaret, and Eric Plunk to the Yankees for Rickey Henderson. I would like to carry out that trade when the date arrives, but I don’t see how to do it. Is there a way to force a specific transaction within the confines of the game? Even better, is there a way to configure the game to automatically implement all in-season trades as they actually occurred historically?

Since there is no commissioner mode in the mobile version you won't be able to force the trade. However, there are two ways you can do it.

One way is to use editor, I assume the Yankees are rejecting the trade so take Polina and edit his home run power to 550 across the board. The Yankees will take the trade, once the trade is complete go back to Polonia and edit his numbers back to where they were pre-trade.

The other is take over managing the Yankees, make the trade and then go back to managing the A's.

Thanks, but how do I do either of those things (edit player ratings or take over managing a team in midseason)? The online manuals don’t cover the mobile version (OOTP Go), and the main version only up to OOTP 24. As far as I can see, both of those operations require commissioner mode, which as you say is not available in the Go version. Is there something I’m missing?

Also, as I mentioned in my original post, it would be great if there were an option to automatically track player transactions as they actually occurred historically.

Historical transactions is only available in the computer version.

To edit a player, touch the players name and it opens up his overview, the last tab is editor. When you get in the editor select batting 4 or 5 down you will see power, make note of the players actual ratings so you can switch them back after the trade and increase vsLHP, RHP and Potential to 550. After you complete the trade go back the player you edited and set him back to his original.

The other way is to quit your job with the A's, take over as the Yankee manager make the trade and do the reverse.

Hope this helps
