Help Needed!

I have recently purchased the game.

I installed it, and recieved a reciept in my e-mail confirming.

However, here is my problem......

When I try to open the OOTP5 program, I get an error message:

what do I do? I can't get the program to open. Do I need to unzip something? HELP!

Post what hardware you are running the game with.

Memory, graphics, what version of windows and so on.

Do you have DirectX installed on your system?

I am using Windows 98.

I do not believe I have DirectX on my system, as I am really not sure what that is.

Go to http://www.microsoft.com and search for DirectX 8.1, d/l and install it. Restart your system and the game should work.

Thank you very much! I really appreciate it.

I had never heard of DirectX before. Why don't they tell you about it, and let you know you will need it, when you purchase the game? Or do they? Maybe I overlooked it.

I would say that "most" PC's come with it installed and many other games and programs use it.

One more question.....

I can now open the game, and use it great. However, if I decide to quit and leave the game, when I try to go back in, I get the same "illegal operation" error message I was getting before.

I also have the same problem when I try and load my league files onto my game. When I click "Open League", and click on my .lg file, it kicks me out of the game, and then I cannot re-enter as I get the error message again.

Has anyone had this problem, ever?
