Game Crashing with read errors

I am getting the attached error when trying to sim occasionally in OOTP5. It is happening more often now. It has happened on certain game matchups, I do not know why. I have gotten around these by setting up a 2nd league and simming the game in that league, exporting the game to a file, and importing the game into the "real" league. This has helped me get around that issue. However, I am now on the first day of the All-Star Break, when there are no games scheduled and I am receiving the error when trying to complete that day. I have no other ideas of how to get around this. If I just copy the league files to a 2nd league and try to do it there, I receive the same error - so it seems to be an issue with one of the league files. Any ideas you may have would be greatly appreciated. I have already tried turning off the Direct3D. I have over 1 GB of free space on my C drive - but I have 732 MB of free space on my E drive, the partition to which I have the game installed. I have 50 and 350 set for the min and max virtual memory on all drives.

You need atleast 1 gig of free HD space for the game to run properly.

I have cleaned up the drive and have over 1.8 GB of free space and the game is closing with the exact same error message. I also have DirectX v9.

Try d/l SP3 from microsoft.

Already had SP3. You mean SP4? Being a technical consultant, I don't see that resolving this issue.

Well, I know that more than one person reported a similar problem and when they d/l SP 3 (at that time) the problem went away. I am not running 2000 so really don't know. Have you tried running computer manager for the league, not sure if lineup/roster issues could be causing this or not.

I guess the reason I don't see that as a fix, other than that I've had SP3 on here, is that I have several leagues set up in my OOTP5 folder - and the problem only occurs with this 1 specific league, and has occured in multiple instances. Everything works fine in other leagues, and I have not ran into problems.

Computer managers got me past that day, but I changed it back to the Human managers for the ASG and it gave me the error again. How does this get resolved?

Have you used ANY third party utilies on the league file?

Rosters - but used them for quite some time before any errors popped up.

Actually, that only helped for the first day of the ASB, it didn't help for when it happens with a game on the schedule.

Did you change the all-star date or some setting on the schedule that dealt with it?

Nope. But I also found out if I unzipped our league files to a new directory and tried it there, I was able to sim that day of the ASB without setting all teams to computer manager. I'm just getting stuck on the MON/PHI game on the 17th. I'm working on a way around that right now.

If that is the case then there is something wrong with one of those teams.
