Hello again. I have another problem that I'm hoping somebody out there can help me with. I've installed the game, downloaded the Sean Lathman database, extracted it to its own file, and when I go to play a Historic League, when the system goes to import the database, it gives me the following error message:
"OOTP2WIN caused an invalid page fault in module OOTP2WIN.EXE at 0177:0051530e". I've defraged my hard drive and run scandisk and everything checks out. I have a Windows 98 Based system with 300mhz and 64MB of memory. Can anyone help me out? The main reason I bought the game was to play past seasons, and I'd really like to get this working. Thanks. |

What format of the database are you using? Does OOTP2 need the older version of the database?
Just a guess, I believe Steve or Killebrew or one of the other more experienced guys could help you further. |

You can get a similar error if the database files are open when you attempt to import (say in excel or excel viewer). Make sure these are the CSV version of the Lahman DB (the unzipped files will have a "CSV" file extension), make sure the Lahman files do not have the "read only" attribute (R-click --> Properties on the file to check this), and finally make sure your historic league has the BOX, EXPIMP, LOGOS, and NEWS directories (in case you are somehow importing after creating a league). |

Thanks for the reply. I'm using the latest version of the database available on the baseball1.com website. It's not open or set on read-only, so I'm guessing that I'll probably need an earlier version of the database to get this to work. Does anyone know where I obtain one? Thanks.

My final tips are to double check that the path you type within the game is correct, and if that doesn't work then break down and buy OOTP3 - it's only 20 bucks, there are tons of new features, and it's much more stable than OOTP2 .Edit: Doh, I just saw the v3 Lahman DB at Henry's bigcitybaseball.com [ January 11, 2002: Message edited by: Killebrew ]</p> |
