I have:
1) Unchecked the commissioner box. 2) Become the GM of the Mets, I am not "acting as." 3) Set ALL team control settings to me. 4) Gone to Game Setup > League Setup > Other Functions > Set all teams to NOT allow AI roster changes, and then selected "Set all computer-controlled teams to allow AI roster changes." 5) Downloaded the patch. Why does the damn AI keep changing around my minors? I'm really getting sick of this game; I hate working to make it a certain way, and it gets changed one second later. What else can I do? If I do not select "set all computer-controlled..." after "NOT allowing AI roster changes" than no other team will ever change, so that isn't an option. MARKUS, ANYONE ![]() PS- How do I find the TT's, or technical threads, of certain numbers?

I have a similar, if not the same, problem.
I am set up as a manager of a team, managing everything (all those five boxes on the manager home page). But periodically the rotation, pitching assigmnents (i.e. whether a pitcher is a set up, long relief, etc.), lineup, and depth charts are getting changed by the AI. And it's not doing a good job - the worst pitcher on my AAA team gets changed to be the top setup man. |

I am having the same problem. Very frustrating as I spent a couple of hours getting my minors just right and then it all gets changed. WTF.

I think it is a problem with substitutes in the depth charts. Take them all out and just fill in the lineups only.
It appears to me that the AI manager decides the player is tired before its displayed in the info column. Last edited by skeetz; 06-11-2006 at 12:34 AM. |

So it's not a matter of the manager deciding to go against the depth charts, etc. It is that those are actually being changed against our will. |

I am happy to report good news and bad news. The good news is that even though the screen does not show it, my minor league depth charts played out as I set them. My catcher, who the AI dropped to third on the depth chart actually had more at bats than the other two catchers. The four players that I had learning new positions, had new ratings at those positions. So it seems the game is doing what you tell it to do, even though it would appear to be changing it on you.
There is a downside to this. Everytime you want to make a change to your depth chart you have to go through all the steps again to recreate the depth chart you prefer. This is not as big of a deal as losing all the work you have done, but is still a bug. I do not know if a new TT# or not, but I thought I would share what I have found.

I've also found the AI manager choosing to use my 3rd middle reliever in a close game even though he is tired and my #1 and #2 middle relievers are well rested. Hopefully that is fixed - one thing I'm going to do is give that 3rd middle reliever a low pitch count, so if he is put in the game, the AI will have to put someone else in soon. |

I have a feeling the AI taking over thing is going to fall under the same category as all the other very similar complaints I've seen here in the last week.
As far as why your #3 MR is used over #1 and #2, at least in every past version of OOTP, number is not priority, just enumerating the spots in each section. The AI just thinks your #3 is better suited for the task than #1 or #2. Does this link help for the AI issue: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=123130

Minor League Management
I have it set that I control Minor League management. I painstakingly went through a selected the guys I wanted to start, the depth charts, pitching rotations....... and the computer has changed it all.
It may already be in the works, but it definately needs fixed. It's playing a 24 year old scrub that's only on the team to fill out the roster instead of the 19 year old super prospect that's just been promoted to double A. Which itself is odd since I told the team it favors prospects to the max... It's also moved the guy I was trying to teach LF in triple A back to RF. |

Play in commissioner mode and select "Prevent AI from making roster changes" on each of your affiliate's options screens.

With that being said, there may be a work around. I say may because I'm not completely certain yet. Go into commish mode, go to the options of your affiliates and click the AI makes no roster changes box. Then you can leave commish, and you should have full control of the lineup/depth chart/pitching roster. In my limited play since I did that I think it's a valid work around. I constantly told my A ball club to play this guy in LF, it kept switching the depth charts to him playing 3B (he's not all that good at 3B, and I have 4 good 3B in higher levels of my minors and a very good young 3B on my big league club, no way is this kid gonna come up as a 3B). Since I've changed it, he has stayed in LF. If you're fired, and accept that, you'll have to be sure to go back in and uncheck those boxes... or cripple the AI that takes over that team though. |

I am not doing anything with Test Track on this topic as it is a hot issue under discussion "behind closed doors." I figure telling you this may cause a sense of serenity, as it is the polite thing to do on my part. Sorry that I cannot be much more specific than this, at this time. |

I had a post going where I was checking how this worked. The option under the teams home page for not allowing ai roster moves is just the flag that is set when you go to league setup and run the action set all teams not to allow ai roster changes.
When you run that it sets the checkbox on all the major league teams only under options and ballparks. It does not touch the minor leagues. When you then run the action to allow roster moves on all computer controlled teams it seems to uncheck all the teams even ones with human managers. Maybe someone else can try this or maybe look at the post I made under options and ballparks title. I could be completly wrong (and wouldn't be the first time) but that may be some of the problems. http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=124901 Last edited by blynch10; 06-24-2006 at 07:41 PM. |

To repeat the issue, Minor League Team Management is set to me, yet, every Monday morning (ie after Sunday's games, after I do auto-play to advance to Monday), all my minor league lineups, depth charts, pitching assignments, and player positions are all changed around by the AI.
Can I PLEASE have a TT#? I have bumped this several times. This is an annoying error that makes me spend a half hour every 7 or so games. I appreciate that there is a forum to log errors and such, but it is frustrating to have my posts ignored. |

I had originally created TT# 1708 for this problem and it was closed and claimed as fixed and included in the first patch.
Raidergoo is correct that there have been discussions "behind closed doors". Unfortunately, I have nothing more to add to this discussion at this time, but wanted to let you know a TT# was entered, claimed as fixed, and additional discussion has been ongoing.
