No world template
I am having some trouble loading a world template. I did not have a world_template folder so I created one and put the template I wanted to load into it but the template still did not appear. Now to make things even stranger I saved a template I put together in the game myself thinking that then OOTP would create a world_template folder on its own. Well the game saved my template and allows me to load it BUT it did not create a world template folder and I can not find the template I created anywhere although I can still load it from OOTP?!?!?
Is it saved in the skins folder or something? This is all very odd. Hope can help and sorry for the question is not clear as it is kind of hard to describe. Doc |

On my machine the folder is here (note the s at the end of the name).
C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\My Documents\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data\world_templates I think it has always been there; that is, the program didn't wait it to create it until after I had created and tried to save a template. |

Why in the world is half the game installed in the My Documents folder and half installed in program files?!?!?

I am having all sorts of issues with this. I was getting template not loading messages and I moved it to the program files...I am trying everything on my laptop to get this to work but it's not...I just wasted the whole friggin' night and I haven't even played it yet.

Edit: Once you get used to it, it's not so terrible. Skins and fonts are in Program Files (along with the game itself, of course). My Documents holds a data folder that contains all the other files the game uses. Just stick a shortcut to My Documents\Sports Interactive\data on your desktop and you can go there quickly whenever you need to access one of those files. The idea is that user data should never be in the same place as program data. And this actually makes some sense - especially when you think of backing information up. It's much easier to backup all user data from one location than to search through all your program files folders to find what you might want to backup.

same thing with ootp. the more custom files/mods you have, the more of a difference this makes |

Well I got it all working now without any problems. I just basically have 2 full copies of everything in 2 different places. Can I delete the stuff in the Program Files section or does that need to be there? I do not run Vista btw.
