I agree with the module concept where you could cherry-pick which options you'd like to incorporate in your universe. However, I can see where it might be simpler for the programmer to have only either/or choices; wide-open or RPG. The open mode should have injury tracking and a disabled list though and small improvements to the autoscheduler, static graphics and audio atmosphere. If TBCB 3 comes out with an RPG mode and no improvements to the open game, I will be very disappointed.

"Flecken"
![]() Unfortunately, the Germans have adopted many anglicisms. We say "patch", too! Very much loking forward to this, anyway. Now that OOTP is again back on track, I'm curious what this RPG mode is going to look like. |

Looks like we scared him off, Javier.
He's bound to show up again here sometime though. Keep watching the skies.... Cap

I'm also hoping for a new career stage of amateur ... once a fighter turns to beginner it moves his record (and all his stats) back to 0-0 but somewhere on the stats screen it would note their amateur stats.
Now in a perfect world Andreas could work in the different scoring system and also less cuts and knockouts because of the headgear. But I'd settle for just a different section of stats. |

I would probably just take the guys who are going to be coming into my uni over the next 5 years and run monthly tournies with them .. I'd want the aging set also so it's a surprise when they turn pro.

I would like to see this as well
Every 4 years have the Olympics and have continental and world wide yearly championships for amateur The less stuff we have to set up ourselves, the better. Overall I think the point of the RPG should be to let the system create and run as much of the world as possible and the player just manage a small piece of it. Of course if you like you can always go into 'god' mode and adjust and take over as much or as little as you like But I dont like relying on 'every 5 years I will create a tournement myself' That is exactly why I dont play TB much anymore Its too much time and effort to do things like that and the results are always better when the system does such things for us. |

Let's see if I can explain this right. When I autoschedule a bunch of fights, I sometimes end up with pairings that I don't want for whatever reason. Usually because there are two guys at "Beginning" stage with unbeaten records and I want to protect those records like their manager would. So, I look at pairings above and below them and substitute one boxer for another by opening the bout that I want changed. Trouble is, halfway through the substitution process I forget who I wanted to move. It would be cool if either the game could be set to avoid matching young unbeaten fighters after their second bout (2-0) or you could just click on fighters and drag-and-drop them quickly.
Don't know if that's clear or not. Cap

1) Have 5 levels to a fighter's location. City, State/Province, Region, Nation, Continent. (Probably have a database a cities, assign a fighter a city, and from that get the other locations).
For instance, in the database you could have Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Atlantic, USA, North America Assign a fighter the city of Philadelphia, that would "fill in" the other 4 fields. This would give us a much better image of where a fighter is from (and allow the other features on my list). Include other factors for flavor, or to effect money issues. For instance, a city might have a very good economy, thus fights held there would generate a larger gate, etc. 2) Allow us to assign World, Continent, Nation, etc. to an Organization. And then we could have Organizations rank all of the champions that are below it. WBA would be a "World" Organization, and thus they would with list NABA (Continental - North America) champions, EBU (Continental - Europe) champions, USBA (Nation - USA) champions, etc. But not other World organization champions (IBF, WBC, etc). This way, if I wanted to create an Australian organization, all I have to do is assign it "Continental" and "Australia" and that would be it. I wouldn't have to go through all of the fighters in my database and assign them to "Australia" for their 2nd group. Also, I might want also want to make something like "Atlantic Boxing Association" or whatever. This (along with the City-State-,etc from above) would let me do that. Just Pick Region - Atlantic and I'm done. I wouldn't have to assign fighters to an Atlantic 2nd group, which then causes me to take them off a possible North America group, causing a bit of a problem if I have a North America organization. 3) Give each fighter a "Reputation" rating. Same levels as above, City-State-Region-Nation-Continent. When the auto-scheduler looks for opponents for this fighter, it could try to match reputation and location. For instance, a fighter with a reputation of "City" (and they are from Philadelphia), the auto-scheduler will only look for available fighter from Philadelphia. "But if there are no fighters there? How does he go elsewhere?" Well, a fighter with a "State" reputation will look for available fighters in their state, including fighters that have a "City" reputation. You could allow the game to go one or two levels lower to find opponents for a fighter (but cut it off at 1 or 2, so that we don't have World reputation fighters going all the way down to City level fighters which would create very unrealistic fights). Popular prospects starting out would probably start off their career with a Regional or State reputation (1, so that they avoid any chance of getting stuck fighting more mature fighters if they are from a very low populated city in the game, but mostly 2, because in real life they do. ![]() As a fighter moves up in the rankings, have dramatic and exciting fights, beat fighters with higher reputations, their reputation could go up. However, I don't think they should move down in reputation. Once a fighter reaches a certain level of reputation, he pretty much stays there. Holyfield, despite how badly he has done the last several years, still is known worldwide, as is Tyson. We don't want some silly thing where a fighter known nationwide suddenly drops to City level because he hit a bad streak. Once he's known nationwide and is fighting at that level, he pretty much stays there. You could also have a fighter's reputation effect rankings. Have it be a modifier. This could let us have situations where a fighter stuck at a reputation of Nation does not get ranked highly and, like in real life, has to wait it out for a fighter with a higher reputation gives him his shot (or put together some nice wins on TV of a PPV undercard to move up). Like above, we don't want unrealistic situations. A guy not known, at the very least "Continentally", does not get ranked in any worldwide Top 10 or 20. 4) Reputation, along with "Draw Power", would also ideally effect the amount of money a Fight Card generates. A Main Event featuring two Regional fighters wouldn't generate a big gate, regardless of how high their "Draw Power" is. Last edited by sabotai; 05-14-2007 at 05:11 PM. |

1) Create a special 0 Rating for fighters that would be considered "Tomato Cans". Right now, the fighters we create to be tomato cans are rated 1, but then there are legit "journeyman" type fighters that could also be rated 1. Hard to tell the difference unless we actually look at them, or use the 2nd Group. It be nice to have a 0 Rating for really bad fighters.
2) A Fighter Generator that acts a lot like the auto-scheduler. Let us fill in certain details, and have the generator fill in the rest. For example, let me create 20 "Tomato Cans" (Max of 0 Rating), all from Mexico, Max age of 20. Or create 10 fighters rating 1 through 3, Max 3 Hitting Power, all Boxer style. |

and what about, to see a potencial rating??
let me explain, in football manager if you fill with 0 a rating, its a random one so maybe if you put -1 for example can be a rating from 1 - 5 -2 for 6 - 10 etc.., so that way you can create a figther and have random rating, so you dont know exactly how good it is, until his prime, or sometihng like that

Thank you for the thoughts Sabotai! I will collect the ideas and organize them for Andreas in the near future.
