Minor League AI Pitcher Mismanagement

I am encountering the same type of Minor league AI Pitcher mismanagement that existed in the last version. The rookie pitcher had pitched masterfully but was over 100 pitches - and the AI manager left him in to get shelled from here to Kingdom come. On the Strategy screen, with the exception of pulling pitchers, all the high end values are on the right side - but with pulling pitchers, they are on the left side. Could this be a case of getting the labels transposed?...

Hit to Left (and into the dugout)

Ignore this.

Just the 2 subsequent posts. I was doing 2 different posts and got locked inside the first and couldn't get out, but I eventually was able to break out.

What were your hook starting pitchers settings for later in the ballgame?

Originally they were at the stock default level, but I have changed them to the far left (maximum hook), and this has helped to a large extent - although I shouldn't have to drag the sliders all the way to the left just to get them to work fairly well.

I guess my main concern is that (at default level) pitchers are not being pulled after their pitch count rises (way) over 100. I would think that this would be a testable & quantifiable issue to track - at least I hope so.

PS: Just read the Sports Illustrated article about Tim Lincecum and all the pitchers who had arm trouble and are just a shadow of their former selves. Wouldn't want that to happen to my OOTP pitchers - out of baseball because they were overused in the minors!

In your league's Strategy tab in League Setup, what are your settings for "Use Relievers" and "Pitcher Endurance"?

I know this doesn't fix the logic problem but why not put the starter on a pitch count? The down side to that is a no-no or other pitching gem can be affected.

IRL many minor league pitchers are on a pitch count.

Thanks for the post. I did this yesterday for my own team but still consider it a stop-gap until the AI pitcher management can be improved.

The downside could be eliminated if OOTP ever allowed us to save games-in-progress. Then I could adjust the pitch count for the one game.

Any interest in following this up further, Ambermonk, or should I close this out?
