Minor League Playoffs in MLB Quickstart

For the past several versions of the MLB Quickstart, the playoff series' have defaulted to five games in the first round, and seven in rounds after that. That being said, not a single affiliated minor league has best of seven playoffs, in any round. Could this be fixed in a future patch?

IL (wc): 5-5
PCL: 5-5
EL (top 2): 5-5
SL (ss): 5-5
TL (ss): 5-5
CAL* (ss+wc): 3-5-5
CL (ss): 3-5
FSL (ss): 3-3
MWL* (ss, top 2 per half): 3-3-5
SAL (ss): 3-5
NYP (wc): 3-3
NWL (ss): 3-3
APP (top 2, cross-bracketed): 3-3
AZL (wc): 1-1
GCL*: 1-3
PIO (ss): 3-3

Codes:

*: actual format cannot be mimicked in game
ss: split-season
top 2: top two per division qualify for playoffs
wc: includes a wildcard team

I always go through the QS and change the minor league playoffs and roster sizes to mimic real life the best I can. Takes a little while, but worth it IMO.

I have mine saved as a QS. If anyone was interested and could tell me how, I wouldn't mind uploading the file somewhere, though I've made some other minor changes to the league settings.

Well, not any more. The last time best-of-seven was used was in the Texas League championship series in 2004.

Neither the California League's nor the Midwest League's playoff format can be replicated in OOTP. It can only recreate the most basic level of split-season season playoff formats (and even then any ties for division titles will almost certainly not be resolved correctly).

Which is exactly why I put those asterisks next to them. The Gulf Coast League also cannot be replicated in game, as there is no way to seed teams with the caveat that the Northeast and Northwest Division Champs cannot meet in the semifinal round.

Sorry, for some reason I looked right past those asterisks and thought they meant something else.

Great, another oddball playoff format I have to account for. It was tricky enough trying to figure out how to incorporate the NHL's playoff format for next season into a customizable playoffs proposal for FHM I'm working on. Now there's this new thing for baseball. Arrrgh... (I suppose a specialty playoff bracket selection might do the trick. At this rate there's going to be a ton of these...)

At this point, I just say "screw it" and make everything five games rather than try to memorize every league's playoff system.

Suggestion for a future patch: Allow series home/away formats (2-2-1 vs. 2-3 vs. 1-2-2) to be customized without the use of the custom playoffs screen. Helps for split-season leagues and the like.
