Roster Importing Help

Hello, I'm in an online league that started with just the MLB level rosters, and I am trying to figure out how I can add the better AAA and AA players into the game. My thought was copy their player entries from one saved game into another using the Export Roster and Import Roster function under league settings. After I copy the players and import the roster back in they aren't there, can anyone help me out? |

Maybe in the free agents? Or DFA? |

Unfortunately they're not even showing up on the list of all the players in the league so there must be something I'm missing.

Check the player IDs of the players you are trying to import. If they are not already in the game before you import the rosters, they won't be added through the import. Ex. MLB AA player A has ID 30000. Highest ID in fictional game is 7500. Player A will not show up. Solution is to create designated fictional FAs, and then overwrite players in the roster import.

Thank you! Would an alternative be to simply copy players over the worst free agents, instead of needing to manually generate up to several hundred players? |

Yeah you could do that. Just don't copy over the player IDs when you do this. They won't show up if you do.

Alright managed to get ID numbers copied over but not all the players are showing up after the rosters are imported. Does anyone know if the player reference number needs to correspond to the same position, ie pitcher to pitcher? I suppose it's possible some of the IDs used might have retired over the course of the season. |

No, they do not need to correspond to position. Check the team IDs. If there are no teams with that ID, then the players won't show up.

I used players on the FA list to try to avoid any complications with teams existing or not existing. It looks like the script we used to transfer player reference numbers didn't work as we had hoped. Thank you everyone for the help, we will keep plugging away. |
