Making trades affects reputation?

Anyone else noticed if making trades raises a user managers reputation? In my current game I've only played one year and my managers rating went from unproven all the way to decent I didn't make the playoffs and had a sub .500 record. I'd never seen that much of a raise in only one year. In another save I'd won the championship twice in 3 years and my reputation didn't even get to decent. The only difference between the different saves I've been playing I've traded a lot in this one and rarely do if ever in others.

Managers don't usually make trades.

My user personal reputation level

It's now up to good after making the playoffs in season 2. Just not figuring out what I'm doing this time around to make it go up so fast. The only thing I can think of is trades but I didn't make any trades in the second season. The first season I accepted 5-6.
