Game called b/c rain bottom 9, top 9 scores not wiped out.
Ump called the game in the bottom of the 9th, but the 2 runes scored by the away team in the top 9 still counted.

I assume OOTP uses the same ruleset for all years, rather than separating it into 1871-1979/1980-2012/2013-present rulesets.
* Under 1979 and earlier rules, the game reverts to the last complete inning. * Under 1980-2012 rules, the game does NOT revert because there was no provision in the rulebook to allow reversion. * Under 2013-present rules, the game does NOT revert because the incomplete inning did not affect the outcome of the game. Furthermore, it would revert only if it were the last game between the two teams, and this was a Saturday game so it's likely the teams had a game the next day. EDIT: Corrected the date of the rule change, it was enacted for 1980, not 1981. Last edited by bwburke94; 08-13-2016 at 08:46 AM. |
