Unsure if this is possible- can QO be changed year-to-year? (e.g. to 17.2mil)
If anyone saw, the QO for this off-season was set at 17.2mil (or 17.3, I forget...) after it was 15mil or so this past off-season. It has been increasing each year, yada yada ding ding... that is not so much my question.
I am just wondering if it is even possible to change the qualifying offer? I swore this was an option, but perhaps I'm thinking of something else or something from 16 that was similar but not the same. . .? I don't know. I've looked in finances and all over the place, searched the boards, google, etc... The QO was just set today, so I didn't expect to find anything honestly. (For 17, anyway.) I am wondering if it is even possible, just so I don't waste time poking my nose around. Also thinking that maybe it's something that can only be adjusted in the off-season--like, maybe it's on the screen where you make QOs during arbitration at season's end? I don't have any files at the end of the year right now or I would check--not a lot of space on this old dog....so I only have 2 files going, actually. Thank you very much in advance! Loved the game this year even though I had some life issues popup and didn't get to play it as much as I wanted to... That being said, I'll be wearing it out on this old laptop or until this damn thing overheats all through the off-season to keep warm, though. ![]() P.S.-- does anybody enable the posting system? (In case someone has no idea about my question but wants to help... hehe) And if so, do you have a suggestion on the limit to set for the amount? (Assuming we're playing in the year 2016, I guess.) Thanksx2 ;D

We don't use the same rules as the real MLB for calculating the QO - we actually use the "star quality player" salary for it. So if you simply change that value slightly, that should give you the right QO values. It may slightly alter player demands, but shouldn't make huge differences.

Ahhhh--excellent! Thank you very, very much! That should be all I need. ![]() I *believe* the "Star quality" is below the superstar? Is it the second-highest? If so, I want to say the default is right around 12mil-15mil. Highest is about 20mil if I am not mistaking, as I had tweaked that up a bit to experiment a little w/ 17. I did a lot of experimenting in 16 for sure, so I think it should be easy enough to get a feel for. Thank you again for the quick and helpful response. This should help a lot and I'll try some stuff and make a back-up once I hit the off-season on one of my files. ![]()

Yeah, the second highest one is what we use. Default in-game I think has the top one at about 20, the second one is 15 or so. I think we did that change in OOTP 16 (forget what we calculated it as before)
