Can't edit lineups

I started a game as the GM of the Cubs in commissioner mode. I got a little past halfway through the season and decided I wanted to make myself the manager too so I could set my own lineups every day.

So I made myself manager and GM and went to team control settings and all duties are set to me. I set Joe Maddon as the bench coach. I also have prevent roster changes checked and tried requesting all lineups from the bench coach. But every time I get to the pre-game screen and try to edit the lineup I get a message that says 'You are not allowed to control this team.'

I can edit the lineups from the lineup page on the team screen but they change when I start the game. How can I make the lineups mine to edit?

make sure you are controling the Cubs. Uncheck Prevent roster moves. see whats different in your setup compared to mine.

Would you mind sharing how you solved the issue? I'm experiencing something similar and it is making the remaining 875 brain cells in my head repeatedly smash against my skull...Whoops! 874.
