Can I Do This?

Though I buy every year's version, it's been years since I have seriously played. Here is the type of setup I want. Is it possible in OOTP 22?

1. Only real players
2. Real photos used instead of Face Gen.
3. 8 teams each in two leagues.
4. 16 game season
5. Random rookies.
6. First year rosters determined by draft. If so, how can I indicate which players are eligible?
7. Is this a Custom league?

Many thanks for any feedback you can offer.

Sounds like you want random players - not just those from a particular point in time - for your start-up, not just for rookies, right? If so, then your league sounds very do-able. But you'd probably want to get some advice from some of the guys - like David Watts - who has done a lot of Random Debut leagues...

My advice with things like this is always to start off with a test league. Set it up minus the facegens, logos, ballparks, etc. (or at least don't spend significant time on those), and just let the game play out for at least a few seasons. Don't immerse yourself yet. Then, once you've proven your concept - the game is turning out the way you want - start over for real and begin your immersion. This way, you won't get a few OOTP years in, after investing a lot of time & effort, only to find out that something is not to your liking that could only have been corrected at setup...

Good luck!

Thanks for the tips. I tried to start the league as a Custom league, Fictional league. The menu said I could fill it with fictional or real players. But it got filled with fictional players. How/where do I tell it to use real, random players?

1. Historical League Creation Wizard
2. Select a season prior to 1961 so you'll get 8 teams in each league
3. Check the box to Use random players from all eras instead of real rosters

Many other settings to decide upon. And you'll have to see if the game will create, others have created, or you will have to manually create, a 16-game schedule. In addition, there are likely specific settings to make sure you don't get fictional players (assuming you don't want those), that random rookies are imported into the game and are distributed via a draft (unless you want them imported as free agents). Many of these features I'm unfamiliar with, but hopefully this is a good start for ya
