New top feature is a tutorial? Checks calendar, nope, not April 1st.

I don't think the phrase "top feature" was ever used. It is the feature that they have released to this point. The road to release will provide more details as they go.

I think tutorials are a great feature, but could maybe agree with criticism that it is an odd choice as the lone initial feature announced.

I will say, though, that the release date announcement has been more of a tease (feature-wise) over the last few cycles. They will get splashier on the date they release the trailer and then the meat & bones will come in the week or two after that if they stay with that format.

I don't want to be that guy, but I find the podcast announcement a bit underwhelming...

I very much doubt that if tutorials was the splashy/sexy big new feature, it would be announced here in a podcast rather than on either the YT or Twitch streams which might get 100x the views.

Since converting my league to OOTP four years ago, I've spent countless hours learning the game. Some of my league members struggle to this day with stuff like Views and Filters. If this is done well it will be appreciated.

Now OOTP just needs to make some tweaks so other dynasty leagues coming over from other games (Dynasty, DMB, Strat) can automatically update at the end of each season. Some game players desire a continuous connection to real baseball, real players. It's an untapped market for OOTP.

I can happily confirm that the new Tutorial feature is neither the 'lone' nor the 'big' new feature in OOTP 23. It is simply the first that we chose to highlight during our Road To Release.

And, as we talked about in the podcast, it is a feature that people have been asking for regularly for at least a decade. So we're pretty jazzed about our new system.

You guys don't really think we won't pack in a bunch of new features and improvements?

What the heck would we put in our trailer?

What the heck would Scott Braun and Markus talk about for a 45 minute reveal show?

There's plenty more, and we'll talk about all of it between now and release.

Have faith in us! We do have a bit of a track record after all.

Markus has the best track record in the video game business. I have faith!

I've used every version since OOTP3 and agree that Markus and his team have a grest track record and I'm sure this year's version will be great.

However, I don't have time to listen to podcasts to find out all the changes and new features. I'd rather see a list of all the new features like most years. Then if I see a feature that catches my eye I may tune in to hear more about it.

Good grief

I spent 41 minutes listening to a verbal description of the tutorials with no video attached?

Well, it is a podcast after all. Podcasts are, by definition, audio files shared via the internet.

I'm sure there will be video showing this and other new features before long.

Gee, I knew that

What wanted to say was that they should have made this podcast about 5 minutes long.

I completely disagree. Was cool to hear conversations between people who work on the game.

Rich, it's great to see (or should I say hear?) the podcast again. Pay no mind to the naysayers. I have no doubt that OOTP23 is going to crush it and we're all going to be very happy. Opening Day can't come soon enough and OOTP Opening Day can't come soon enough, but both will be worth the wait, I'm sure.

In Markus we trust and that isn't debatable. I think the skepticism is do to Com2uS being the actual owner of the game. Faith in them is the biggest problem.

For those that enjoy the podcast running 41 minutes plus, excellent, keep it and enjoy.

For the rest of us just give us bullet points on what is new and expand when needed.
