My Manager Has Lost His Mind
First screen snip is my depth chart.
Second one is the lineup my manager created. |

In the logic of LOGIC, how in the OOTP universe is a pitcher designated as the SECOND batter? Even if the rest of the lineup is hitting crap, which it is not (hello Clemente and Stargell batting in the bottom half of the lineup!), a pitcher as the SECOND hitter? Bob Gibson has the arm AND the legs, I suppose!

OOTP calls Gibson a two way player. His batting ratings are decent in the big picture, about that of a defense first SS, but he's the ninth best hitter in that lineup.

That is a bizarre one, not unlike a game I had several years ago where a "2-way" player was put in as a #5 hitting pitcher/DH Ohtani style despite having a .474 career OPS and terrible hitting ratings.
Meanwhile, I am currently doing a non-DH league and if I don't manually readjust it, Ohtani hits eighth or ninth. |

Yeah OOTP loves to mark guys as two-way players, I have to constantly check my prospects when they come in from the draft to make sure they're not mistakenly put as such.

My management of games consists only of handling substitutions. I use sometimes Gibson as a pinch runner.

I wonder if this is somehow related to me having Stargell listed as a sub every second day for two positions. I want him in the lineup every day but half the time at 1B and half the time in LF. I've tried making him starter at one position and every 2nd day at the other but the manager won't sub him in at the other.

That's what I'm trying to do but I can't find a way to make it happen automatically. I've tried putting Tolan as the LF starter with Oliver 2nd day backup figuring when Oliver plays a couple clicks will get him at 1B but the manager doesn't leave Oliver in the off spot. Puts Hebner leadoff with Oliver second.
