1986 Astrodome
Below is work I'm doing for the 1986 version of the Dome. Those of y'all that saw my late 90's Dome, I'm working on both them simultaneously, so not to worry, I haven't forgotten about the other one!

Looks outstanding. Would be very interested in using it considering my historical MLB is currently in 1985. Great work.

Real cool. Right into my library when it's done.

Looking great. One correction needed on the division champs banner: The Astros won the NL West in 1980 and 1986. They won the second-half title in the strike-shortened season of 1981, but lost to the Dodgers in the Western Division series. So they're not considered West champs in 1981.

No worries. Happens to us all. Can't wait to use this model. It looks tremendous.

This puppy is complete...how do I get this into the game for y'all? I've seen tutorials on how to import it for your personal team. Is it where I have to post the file here and y'all add yourself?

You can use free sites or paid ones to host your files. MediaFire is what I use. www.mediafire.com Mega is another https://mega.io/ Silvam14 uses MediaFire and Steam Workshop to cover both bases. Google Drive is another.

Thanks! And I feel like I'm missing other items because it appears through research that you just don't dump the 3d .obj model into the folder (I tried installing that into the game and obviously didn't work). Texture files, photos, field layout also need to be included? At least I think that's what I'm gathering. As y'all can probably gather, I can build these stadiums quite well, but I'm crap at the technical side of things!

For step-to-step guide on exporting obj properly so it works with OOTP, please refer to Silvam's tutorial here: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=289916
Since you already know how to build a 3D model, you can just skip to the last step: Part 4 includes: View Here - Exporting the model from sketchup to an .obj (download sketchup plugin objexporter here) Install plugin here: C:\Program Files (x86)\SketchUp\SketchUp 2016\ShippedExtensions - Importing and testing the stadium in OOTP19 (fixing anything wrong) - Configuring the 3D crowd and testing in OOTP19 - Creating the 2D diagram - Creating the 2D Day and Night Photos - Setting The 3D Grid and wall markers - Setting 2D Ball locations - Creating park factors - exporting park .prk file |

If you mean how the file structure looks, here is a FastSpring example of where stuff goes. Feel free to ping on the park builders. They're a helpful lot
![]() So, the zip would have the park folder in it and then the contents of which look like the screenshots. EDIT: Not only helpful, but faster to reply than I was!

Thanks for the help! I will get more into it when I get back home from lunch and I will see where it takes me. In the meantime, I will leave y'all with the finished product, with the crowd.

Really looks great.
What years was this version of the Astrodome in effect? |

I’d venture to guess 1985 as that’s when they started to repaint the seats to the current rainbow seats. This model is replicated from Game 1 of the 86 NLCS. So it won’t be too useful before any 1985 season. I’ve already gone in and started editing 3 more versions from 65, 70s, etc. Basically any time there was a major change to the stadium or turf.

Going out on a limb and going to say this is not the right way 😅 I did manage to get the pictures and diagrams in, but the 3D model is proving difficult.

On that 3D model, have you tried zooming out? Just a thought.
