My game keeps crashing - it's not the graphics driver this time
My game crashes constantly even if I try to simulate the rest of a game I'm playing. II'm playing a historical season (2001) with the Seattle Mariners. I was playing the season with no trouble until I reached the 18th game of the season with the Anaheim Angels. The game always seems to crash during crucial moments, like when my team starts a rally going, or my makes a great defensive play. Sometimes it happens when the inning is over. It crashed so much that I practically had to save the game after every single play just to avoid having to start over from an older save when it decided to crash.
I am running the 64-bit version Windows 11 Home and it's currently updated. I'm not running the game via Steam, but by itself, and I'm not running Discord, so the overlay issue doesn't apply. I have narrowed down the problem to my save file. I tried creating a test game with default options and played a whole game without any problems, so it seems that there's something wrong with the other save file. I do hope that the whole season isn't "flipped" (clean substitute for a curse word starting with the same letter) and need to ditch it and start over. If I have to, then no big loss, as I only have played about 18 games & won all of them, including 4 I simulated. Maybe that's why the game crashed - that is, it couldn't believe how great I was doing and figured I was "cheating" somehow and decided to punish me by crashing the game? LOL! ![]() Anyway, I wasn't sure if all that was needed was just the "dat" files in the <NameofSavedGame.lg> parent folder or all "dat" files in the other subfolders so I just included the ones in the SeattleMariners.lg parent folder. If the other dat files in the other subfolders need to be included please let me know. I've zipped the files in a Windows zip file I named "2001SeattleMariners.zip") and uploaded it to ftp://ootpsupport.com/incoming/ootp/saved_games My PC specs are as follows: CPU: Core I5-14600K RAM: 32 GB Graphics: Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070 Hard Disk: 1 TB NVMe OS: Windows 11 Home 64-bit If there is anything else that is needed to help resolve this problem, please let me know. - EdgarFan72 |
