I was talking about your screencapture... my Steam purchase isn't downloaded yet, I do the FG so I prefer to do them with OOTP26 and wait for OOTP27 to get some patches since I'm not ready to play yet anyway. I don't play on a MAC so usually I don't encounter those visual mess.

On this anniversary edition of OOTP, I am starting a new thread for the historical facegen pack. The reason is simple. Since becoming the steward of the pack at the beginning of the OOTP24 cycle, numerous people have expressed frustration that the first post of the current CUF thread has outdated information on it that implies it is up-to-date when, in fact, it has not been updated in nearly two years. I want to thank FancySkunk for carrying on the facegen project when qcbandits left the forum and all the other contributors to-date. I especially want to thank AESP_Pres for the more than 9,600 MLB facegens he has updated over the past two years. If there used to be a gray zombie face in the 19XX's and it is now replaced and improved, that is his handiwork and I, like you, am very grateful for it.

For my part, I have updated more than 20% of the MLB facegens (largely from 1970 forward) and currently create new facegens for the MLBPA license as it is updated throughout the year.

In the days ahead, I will get this post more standardized and improve the formatting. For now, however, I promised a new pack on this pre-release day and a new pack you shall have.

The current link for the Compete Universe Facegen (CUF) Pack is always in my signature. The full pack is the one in bold. Also in my signature are the ones that I did (or significantly revised). These are a mere subset of the whole.

For those of you unfamiliar with installing facegens, the instructions remain unchanged:

Windows:
1. Download and extract the zip file from the link above
2. Delete or rename the existing fg_files folder in your OOTP install folder
3. Copy the downloaded fg_files folder into your OOTP install folder

Mac
1. Make sure OOTP isn't running.
2. Go to the folder /Users/(username)/Application Support/Out of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 25.
3. Delete the folder fg_files.
4. Add the downloaded folder, also named fg_files.

Notes:
• Newly created leagues will have the facegens load automatically.
• Older leagues will need to have player pictures updated in order for them to display: League Settings -> Players & Facegen -> Check all picture files of all teams and leagues

The pack is also available in the Steam Workshop. To get it there, subscribe to the mod pack, return to the game and look at the bottom of the start screen and click "Workshop Central". Select the pack (if subscribed, it should show there in a list), after selecting it, on the right, it should give you the option to Download and install the mod. Do so. You will see a lot of files moving over. Be patient. When that competes, you should be subscribed.

If you see a terrible facegen (and there are still many), and it is a MLB player or a prospect relevant to the current game, post here to request a replacement.

If it is a random minor leaguer that never made it to the bigs, go to my personal thread (https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=331809) and post the Historical Minors ID or a screenshot of the player. They will be deleted. Bad facegens give the whole pack a bad name. They never should have been put in the pack and it is a tedious process to audit and clean them out. Your help is appreciated.

Is this up-to-date for the 2026 season and work with OOTP 27?

One more decade update done

This time 1931 to 1940 with a total of 990 FGs updated... as usual if a FG isn't included it's because the current FG in the pack was fine and the upgrade wasn't that major.

Edit: there is some black players who will play later in the MLB already included even if I haven't reached 1947 yet, the reason is because I use BBref first year in a major league (which include the Negro Leagues as they are considered major leagues) to work on a player FG.

Just throwing another name on the pile...

Late-80s cup-of-coffee-type C Bill McGuire (mcguibi01 / mcguir003wil) definitely needs a new facegen (presuming that mcguir001bil is supposed to be him and not Billy McGuire of the 2023-24 Western New England Golden Bears -- who is coincidentally also a catcher -- any relation, I wonder?).

Pretty minor issue, but none of the Negro League players seem to be having their facegens show up in Perfect Team.
I'm assuming Perfect Team cards are using some different kind of ID or something, so I don't know if there's any way to fix this.

Thank you for using them... now that more color pictures are available it goes faster and of course less and less FG will need updating with the years (when I'll hit the sixties the quality of the current pack FGs should be better I think)

Just a guess... did they play in the MLB, if they didn't no FGs were done for them. I think Lans is working on that...

They did not. But it seems like at least some do have facegens... I have Bullet Rogan on my team, his Baseball-Reference ID is rogan-001bul, and in the Complete Universe Facegen Pack, there's a rogan-001bul.fg file. Yet, he has no face in Perfect Team. I started an historical game when Bullet Rogan was active in the negro leagues and found him, and he had a face, but I suppose I may have inadvertently enabled an option where the game creates fake facegens for players who don't have proper facegen files. Hmm.

Got it! I never played the Perfect Team game so I have no idea how it works for the FGs in that mode.

That's odd. I did him on 22 October 2025 but you are correct, I didn't move him out of my game and into the my Master fg folder that feeds the pack. Here it is.

Bill McGuire

I liked the Calgary Cannons shot of him and used AI to turn his head and fed the supporting Mariner pics in to help it. Some of the other pics had his face a bit wider and compact so I did that as well.

Marc Griffin was a minor leaguer that, despite the visual evidence that was in the pack, was not undead. I fed several pics into AI to get a workable representation. He has been active in Montreal remembrances based on his time there so there were some older pics available to for reference.
