Agreed - I did not watch the post-game, did he address why Jansen (who was up and warming) didn't enter in the 9th?

No idea. I didn’t watch the post game either. That was really interesting though. He was warming up and everything. I thought for a second it was a situation where he was literally being traded in that moment.

Boy, Jansen just seems shot. Other than that, this is a good team when healthy; will be a shame if we have to say goodbye to Skubal and Mize.

Jansen looks like he is toast. 2 of those outs last night had an exit velocity over 100. They were just ripped right at waiting defenders thankfully. Big series against the Phillies this weekend. Then again, with the hole this team dug every series is a big one. They have such little margin for error at this point. Also, I’m not sure anyone gets traded at the deadline. The league is so weak in general everyone still has a shot at the wild card in the AL. Trading away is essentially telling your fanbase that you are raising the white flag. Now I have read the articles saying the Tigers could still trade Skubal and compete and I don’t disagree with that statement on merit I just have seen nothing from Harris that suggests he can pull off such a move. Also, if you also deal Mize you are absolutely telling your fan base you are conceding the race. Mize has been great. You are not surviving dealing 2/5 th’s of your starting rotation. It is definitely an interesting development to watch though.

No doubt. McKinstry and Tork got this save. Those were two ringing singles. KJ is done; I hope they don't wait for him to be Kenta Maeta - done before shifting his role.

How cool is the Skubal vs. Nola matchup looking for Sunday? I will sure be tuning in.

Nola pitched last night so the schedule is for him to face Wheeler tomorrow. Phillies have quite the staff.

Ah. My mistake. Wheeler vs. Skubal will be a good one as well.

Not as bad as my Skubal mistake. We bought tickets to see him at Yankee Stadium the week before for Monday night. He threw Tuesday. Doh!

I am starting to think that this Framber guy may not have been worth $38m

Now that we are playing a lot better... do we trade Skubal? I hope so, unless there is someway we can sign him to an extension (HA!!!)

Something tells me they are just going to ride out the rest of the season. I also read a report the Skubal knew he had an injury in the preseason and didn’t disclose it because the Tigers were taking him to arbitration. Skubal is not helping his case with the public. (Not that he cares)

Just why would you bunt with Vierling at the plate, one out, and the tying and go-ahead runs on the corners in the bottom of the blooming ninth? All the way to 0-2...!

Another blown save. Over 20 on the year. I’m going to keep going back to this because it is the whole reason the team is where they are. You can say they don’t hit or field enough but this is now over 20 times where they had done enough to win and the bullpen doesn’t come through.

I don’t understand a lot of the game related decisions sometimes. I get it that when you are a professional coach/manager all of your moves are going to be dissected and you are human so you will just be flat out wrong in certain instances. With Hinch though, he never admits he is wrong with tactical decisions and some of them like you just described make zero sense at all.

The bullpen is awful. They are 13-33 in 1 or 2 run games.

They called up Valencia yesterday so maybe this is just Javy coming back. Oh joy.
