Well...
I wasn't going out this weekend, but Mrs. Cobb wanted a ride so we bundled up the puppies, grabbed our portable grill and a couple of nice t-bones and rode off in search of adventure.
The jewel of the day is this first skybox. I may re-edit to center the sunset. M-119 north of Harbor Springs, MI is called the Tunnel of Trees. It's astonishing in the fall, but it's pretty darn good in the spring as well. Sunset last night was spectacular. Link in post 1.

A field on M119
South of the above sunset, I got this. There's a glitch that'll need to be hidden over RF. I'll get on it while my muscle tear heals.

Harbor Springs
is a quaint little town on the north side of Little Traverse Bay. Lots of art, culture, and private roads. This is overlooking the airfield and the bay before you get into town...yes, a town of 1,206 has enough moolah in the local residents budgets that they can have a 2 runway airport.

A field in Antrim County
north of Mancelona, MI. A lot of nice people there, but this town has fallen on HARD times economically.

Bluff before Bayview
Trust me, there's a great view of Little Traverse Bay behind home plate. Really. Taken just off US-31 in Petoskey before you roll into Bayview. Yes, I'll put up a version with the bay in the background...

Between Boyne Falls & Boyne City
right near...you guessed it, Boyne Mountain. It's one of the largest Ski Resorts in the northland. I hear you folks in Aspen chortling right now...and you Vermonters as well...
It's a beautiful area.

Sunday 6-14-20
Mrs. Cobb and I are going to the UP for more skyboxing pix, many in support of my USBA quickstart. It's the final day of the fifth year since my colon cancer diagnosis, and we're going to celebrate by grilling some steaks and corn-on-the-cob on the shore of Gichigami, the feared inland sea. Took a couple of pix tonight on the north shore of beautiful Higgins Lake and nearby Marl Lake (not so pretty) with a nice sunset sky.
Friday I have my 5 year CT scan, and if clean, I'll have beaten Stage 3 (borderline 4) colon cancer! Keeping my fingers crossed and saying some prayers.

Mackinac City, MI
Sitting at the base of the fabled Mackinac Bridge, Mackinac City Park offers a spectacular view of the world's longest single span suspension bridge. Located at the tip of Michigan's Lower Peninsula, where Lake Huron and Lake Michigan meet, you can't find a better bridge in Michigan!

Lake Superior
A bunch more skyboxes will be coming up soon. Got some family business to take care of that's slowing the process. One of the spots that I hope to box up is below...Deer Park Truck Trail on the shores of Lake Superior. We celebrated last night with ribeyes and corn-on-the-cob grilled in its own husk and watched the sun go down.
A rare view of Mrs. Cobb and the pups, too!

Roberts Corner MI
Located a couple of miles south of Newberry in the central Upper Peninsula, it's a four corners with some businesses and a few houses. Newberry got the jobs, the history. RC got the location at the corner of 2 State highways. The restaurant behind the pic, visible if you swivel your camera around enough, used to be a great place to eat...

Gros Cap
Gros Cap is a natural area beyond St. Ignace on US-2. It'schock full of swamps and swamp cedars and gorgeous local wildlife...which is verrrrrry careful not to come near US-2, sadly.
