Wilbur Cooper pitched five scoreless innings but the bullpen was not so successful. Loren Smith homered in the Top of the 10th, but the Giants came back in the bottom of the 10th to walk off the Superbas, 6-5.

What a poor way to celebrate the Managers -55th birthday!

WP - Julian Lopez (1-0)

Spring Record - 11-6

We thought we were ready for Opening Day... but Bert Sincock has elbow strain that will cause him to miss all of April, and into May.

He goes to the IL and Eddie Higgins is called up.

The Owner expects us to win the NL.

We are 14th out of 16 for Minor League systems.

Our prospects in the Top 100 are:

11. Ramon Yanez, 2B (Rookie)
54. Eddie Murphy, RF (AAA)
81. Dan Gillespie, 2B (AAA)
82. Buck Weaver, SS (Short A)

The writers are down on Brooklyn. 70-84. 7th in the NL.

They are wrong.

Their prediction: White Sox vs Braves

AL Top Hitter - Ty Cobb, Athletics
AL Top Pitcher - Charlie Bender, White Sox

NL Top Hitter - Tris Speaker, Braves (5. Sam Crawford, 9. Danny Murphy, 10. George Burns)
NL Top Pitcher - Orlando Esini, Cubs (4. Nap Rucker)
