Webb Schultz 1924
Wilbert Carl "Webb" Schultz colorized and upscaled in two images. I worked up 2 different images for Schultz; the first one as submitted I was not able to draw much additional detail out of (Pica.ai and kolorize.cc) i found another image of Schultz in the Cinemaodyssey facepack and while not the desired uniform specific result, achieved a much clearer result once again implementing pica.ai and kolorize.cc

Lum Davenport 1924
Attached is a 1924 image of Lum Davenport with the Chicago White Sox.
A left handed pitcher, 1924 was the final year of his 4 year stint with the White Sox. He just had one outing that final year pitching 2 innings. His career ERA was 7.71 from 25 appearances covering 58 plus innings. More than half of his outings were in his initial 1921 season. |

I had started this but then had to go out of town for a few days. Just finished up and was able to tease a little more detail from the face. Cap to face transition at the upper right is a little funky but otherwise "o.k.". Last edited by infieldfly; 04-07-2025 at 11:02 AM. |

I know this was has been done before but with the recent improvements in enhancement software, I did an upgrade for my early 50's collection.

palette.fm, et al. A bit "crunchy" in places but I think it's usable. |

Bill Lasley 1924
Quote:
Another significant challenge posted below, a 1924 image of Bill Lasley with the 1924 St. Louis Browns. Lasley was a switch hitting right handed pitcher. His career consisted of 4 innings pitched over 2 games, one finished, with the 1924 Browns. He faced 21 batters and allowed 7 hits, 2 walks and a wild pitch. His career ERA was 6.75. |

Lasley
From the Museum of History and Industry and Seattle Post Intelligencer.....
![]() CAPTION: Willard Almond "Bill" Lasley (1902-1990) was raised in Seattle and became a top pitcher in Northwest semi-professional baseball leagues in the 1920s and 1930s. He played briefly for the St. Louis Browns in 1924, and in a game with touring major-league all-stars, he played with Babe Ruth and against Ty Cobb. Lasley taught himself the business and manufacturing techniques he later applied to his successful knitting company, Lasley Knitting Co., which he founded in 1946 at 163 S. Jackson St. in Pioneer Square. The company made letter sweaters and jackets for high school and college teams until 1978, when it was bought by T.M. Athletics, who operates in the same location. In this image Bill Lasley warms up for a game with the Seattle Indians (later Seattle Rainiers), probably at Dugdale Field (later the site of Sick's Stadium), located in Seattle's Rainier Valley. |

I also upscaled the image with deep nostalgia.ai but I think I may prefer the non enhanced version |
