So we can hit it out of the park! Eh? Right? I'll show myself out, but it was right there on a tee, man.

Good news, even if it's a delay.
Since the take over I keep my fingers crossed every year from now.

Lets hope that curveball isn't a Korean spitball and you strike out eventually.

That's 13 versions ago. Letting go a little tough?

Johnny, the MLBPA is the player's UNION. They also approved this. If the union OK's it, it isn't crossing the picket line.

Both parties are in agreement, and all parties stand to benefit. Everybody wins. There's no downside here.

If the picket line comment was supposed to be sarcasm it definitely whiffed.

Anyway as far as expanding Perfect Team over core gameplay I really don't get the criticism. I don't recall a release since I started playing in OOTP 8 that didn't appreciably expand the sand box. The stadium creator is the biggest and best feature since 3D came out. And after two years it's gotten better each release. 3D has gone from "no thanks" to "wow". I don't really see how PT has detracted from gameplay improvements. I tried PT but it's just not for me so the core single player is all I care about. I've had no cause for complaint.

I'll agree with all of this and add...

Before PT..

Nobody ever complained at the lack of new features.

Nobody ever complained about the legacy features that didn't work right or were not enough in depth.

None of the following were ever the redheaded step child before PT
historical players
online players
single game players
text only players
sim only players
play out all game players
the "I want 3d crowd"
etc. etc. etc.

Hey, it was only after the invent of PT that all of the issues OOTP has came about, right? No matter what Markus says or shows PT has taken all of the time and left OOTP out in the cold.

To my eye not much has changed in the release\development cycle with the introduction of PT or the sale of the code (though still in it's infancy so yes, it could change). One never knows, a suit could come in and say "shut it down" but until they do it's just all "the sky is falling" drivel.

There has been tremendous work done on the 3d game over the last few versions. Some pre-PT some post. Some, according to Markus, wouldn't be done if not for PT.

Yeah, those that don't use 3d will complain about being left out. Just like any subset of users did, in the pre-PT days, when their area of want wasn't being addressed.

Isn't it interesting, though, that MLB can agree with the MLBPA about this product, but not its own product?

Interesting? All that happened was that each party received, and cashed, checks.

Markus stated they signed an extension with "both MLB and the MLBPA". I take that as they are separate agreements. IE not contingent on both MLB and MLBPA having to agree before it can be signed. IOW both organizations got 100% of the revenue for their agreement. No split was necessary.

Either organization could have decided to not sign an agreement. But why would they not take the money? Kind of a no brainer, right?
