Possibility to change language of the state in countries.

Its so annoying and make me not want to play Liiga with my favourite team Vaasan Sport. Actually it makes me not want to play this game anymore at all.

Like if player are playing at Vaasan Sport, then they don't learn finnsih at all, only swedish. If I develop my juniors and they got to the national team of Finland then they don't speak finnish at all. What is kinda funny and would be very very very rare case if something like that would happen.

Also if almost all my players are from my juniors and I want to sign some other player from Finland then he get isolated because everyone else is talking swedish and he is is finn so he is speaking only finnish.

I live in Vaasa bymyself and I've never been used to talk swedish at all. I can't even communicate with swedish if I need to. I know only couple families that are finlandswedish people and all of them speaks perfect finnish also. Almost all of those swedish only speakers living out of Vaasa in small muncipalities.

Right now only way to to fix this is relocate Sport from Vaasa and from Ostrobothnia (Because seems like whole Ostrobothnia is part of Sweden) but then it does not feel same anymore.

Yes, Vaasa should definitely have Finnish as their main language.

Small thing, but in the World Hockey Championship (a highlight for me), the centre-ice logo is the flag of whoever is the home team. But if the tournament is being hosted by, say, Austria, the flag in centre ice should be Austria, or at least a generic IIHF logo.

In the tournament I was playing, the tournament was being hosted at the Klagenfurt Arena in Austria. But when I looked at the game details, it said that the Klagenfurt Arena was in Rome, because Italy was the home team for that particular game.

Lastly, it would be helpful if the World tab defaulted to the national team you're running, rather than making you select your team each time. For example, I was managing Belarus and when I went to the World tab and selected 'roster', it usually showed me the Detroit Red Wings, for some reason. It would be convenient if the game understood that if you're managing a national team, that is what you want to look at, in the same way that it assumes that with the club team you're managing.

Thanks!

Are the Aging and Development ratings for real players set in the database for the Standard Game? I think they are, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, randomizing those on game start somehow would be nice. I feel like I know when certain players will start to decline and can adjust my contract offers to match, but I'd like some more uncertainty in that. Right now I'm considering using a d20 for players I resign.

Adding special abilities to players in the draft, tough players getting the skilled fighter or intimidator traits and skilled players getting the great deke etc...

I'm sure some of these echo others' posts (and maybe some I've just not figured out?), but my initial requests follow...

1. Retired player profiles connected with their staff profile, though preferably literally the same profile page with playing history and staff history.
2. When players leave for international competitions, do not immediately drop them from the lineup; rather, let the manager handle it (e.g., “switch” players so the lines can be preserved and/or easily updated). Permit calling up players to replace them if needed (instead of having them take up spots on the active roster).
3. Separate international tab/menu and quick links for international manager position.
4. Clear delineation between ratings for international team and club team, with easy access to both where apppropriate. When on my national team, I get one star rating if I hover and another star rating on the roster and possible players screen. Related to this, (international) positional ratings should be context-appropriate, or there should be two different ratings.
5. International staff, including scouts. Or, failing that, the international manager should at least “know” the quality of their possible international players with high accuracy.
6. In US minor leagues, players contracted to the minor league team (not the NHL team) should not be controlled by NHL team. For example, as Tucson I signed a goalie but Arizona keeps re-assigning him to semi-pro when they send me goalies despite the fact my goalie isn't contracted to them.
7. International, national league, and/or nation-based Hall of Fame(s) or “famous players”. Just because you never make the NHL doesn't mean you didn't make a huge contribution to your league, nation, or in general. For example, 300 wins and 60 shutouts in 800 games in the NHL can get you into the Hall of Fame. With enough shutouts, you could get there by winning 41 games per season (50% of each season) for 8 seasons, or 30 games per season (36.5%) for 10 seasons. But with a 50-ish game European season, those totals aren’t realistic. Similarly, a player could lead their national team up through the IIHF ranks without ever playing in the NHL and be a legend in their country, but never be recognized in the game, even if we manage in that country. “Famous players” and other honors should be relative per context, like the regular awards. Related to this, a more transparent view of the hall of fame voting/calculation would be appreciated. How many votes did each player get? (Why?) And so on.
8. “Sibling of" link, not just grandfather, father, son. (See also requests related to female players and staff.)
9. Ability to add leagues to full "real" setup from the outset.
10. Ability to edit European leagues, even if very limited to avoid errors. (Though if we can edit/expand the NHL, why not all European leagues?)
11. Women’s leagues, international competitions, etc.
12. Female staff (any real, plus generated), with appropriate facegens.
13. When using forward and/or backward buttons, always actually go forward or backward to the next or previous screen accessed. It seems to often default back to a different team home page.
14. Combined “manager calendar” with important dates, etc., filterable by those that directly apply to the manager’s league/club, international team, etc.
15. Greater differentiation for email subscriptions. For example, I might want to know about a league’s coaching changes but not their suspensions. Or I might want to subscribe to updates on specific players.
16. Improved detail on contract negotiations and motivations. Why say (re-)enter negotiations if they haven’t been approached before? If they don’t want to (re-)sign, why not?
17. Improved detail in manager points, including for partial seasons. For example, I was manager of Team A and was hired by Team B in a different league partway through the season. That same season, I won a championship with Team B and was offered a job with Team C in yet another league shortly afterwards. I accepted the position with Team C, but then earned 0 points for that season and was not given anything to add to my ratings.
18. Job application process, perhaps even with “interviews” instead of immediate firing/hiring with blind offers out of nowhere.
19. Coach career stats sorting (e.g., “all competitive”, regular season, play-offs, international, etc.).
20. More realistic—or at least more transparent—reputations. As an American GM/coach I won the Champions Hockey League (and a Swedish league title) with a team I improved to become the best-known non-NHL team in the world according to the rankings, but was still only “known nationally”.
21. Yearly records/leaders page/tab for leagues and teams.
22. An easier way to search players who you might want to purchase from other leagues (if in Europe), located in Transactions. “Realistic” free agents are easy to find in the menu tab, but finding players to purchase requires a search, filters, etc.
23. More detail for world team rankings. Why are they in that particular order? Seeing their current win/loss record isn’t as helpful as seeing a reputation score, what trophies they’ve won, how recently they’ve won trophies , etc. The rankings should be filterable, too. In my game, 429 teams are listed, but no university, junior, etc. teams are included, even though in reality, some of them will be more reputable than some of the professional teams on the list. At least all manageable teams should be included.
24. Transparency on league rankings and changes among them.

I think some of these might be possible with updates to FHM9, while others (e.g., women's leagues & competitions) probably require bigger changes for future versions.

And another one, possibly...

25) Compensation for AHL teams if NHL teams poach their players. (If this actually exists. If not, make it clear in the League Notes.) I signed a couple players directly to my AHL team only to have NHL teams sign them mid-season without compensating me. Although I believe a player would happily leave an AHL team if offered to sign for an NHL team (or maybe even a salary increase to a European team, which I don't think the game permits), I find it less easy to believe that the AHL contract is simply dissolved with no compensation to the AHL team. Though if someone can show me that rule in reality, I'm happy to cede the point.

26) Players have relationships with coaches, not just teammates. This could influence their development and signing decisions.
27) Coaches have relationships with players and other coaches. This could influence their development and signing decisions.
28) Minor-league team-specific depth charts and lineups. I don't want to be forced into picking (or defaulting to) what the NHL parent team wants if I don't agree with it. A real farm team would get to choose its own lineups, etc. The NHL team might have and express preferences, and they might have influence on the choice of staff to begin with, but after assigning the player off their NHL roster, as far as I know they have no official say over what happens to them.
29) Update "friends". Currently, players can be unhappy if they have "lost friend" even though there is no one listed on their line chemistry. If they are close enough to be "friends" (not just players being popular or likeable in general), it should be clear. This would help with making personnel decisions.

And I'll re-emphasize #6 from my earlier post, as every time the NHL team sends down one or more of its players, it reassigns some of mine... even though they are contracted to my team, not the NHL team. The NHL team or AI shouldn't automatically reassign anyone contracted to my team. If my roster ends up in violation of the rules, as coach/GM I should get to sort it out myself. Linked to this, the roster moves should be more realistic. For example, there's a player who is repeatedly sent down to the AHL and recalled to the NHL on the same day, resulting in one of my AHL players being displaced (usually automatically) without the sent-down-and-recalled player ever playing for my team.

.
This is so annoying, especially in early NHL when players were more likely to play for AND manage/coach a team.

e.g. in 1917 Art Ross is a player and GM of the Montreal Wanderers. If you are playing as the Canadiens you can trade for him as a player, but he continues to be GM of Wanderers, which likely wouldn't even be allowed under league rules. The game should force him to also step down as GM in this case.

Also if a player is appointed as GM/Coach of another team, they should either retire from playing immediately, or move as a player to the other team, with appropriate compensation going the other way.

Get a trade response on the same day it's made. (WIthout it being the trade deadline or draft) How often do you have to wait several days in real life to hear back if a trade was accepted or not?

Quite often actually. I find its rather realistic the way it is in the game. Trades are essentially business contracts (like buying a house) and those are never do overnight. You have several parties that need to agree and sign paperwork before anything can be finalized or leaked to the media. A bit like buying a house. Got agents on both sides doing the negotiating and bargaining and going back and forth to their clients. Lawyers.

Created a separate post for this before realizing this thread was probably better suited:

I assume the "Exhibition" game mode to be low on the priority list, but it would be nice to have the option to set tactics prior to the simulation, as all teams, both modern and historical, simply default to the first tactic from every category (which leads to bizarre combinations like "dump in" + "cycle").

Would also be neat if we could export the CSVs as the import/export folder is already created.

And some more for 10 (or adjustments for 9, where feasible)...
30) More 'accurate' fan happiness. For example, I lost 2 points when I traded a first round draft pick, but I traded for another, better first-round draft pick. I lose two points for every first round draft pick I trade away, but earn nothing for bringing in first round draft picks. The scale could also go higher or be more insulated. For example, at 100, if I keep winning, nothing happens, but if I lose, I dip below 100. And so on.
31) During NHL shoot-outs, I receive a message after each goal informing me that one team (usually the one that scored first) is now ahead as if they had scored a 'real' goal, which is not the case. The shootout commentary should reflect the status of the shootout.
32) Better (or at least more contextually-phrased) tactical advice with more varied messages. During games, after almost every period, my assistant coach suggests I should reduce backchecking (which I have set slightly above average), either because I am outshooting my opponents or because I am being outshot by my opponents. When suggesting I reduce, I get the same message as if I am significantly outshooting them, even when only doing so by one. I don't mind the advice itself--that might be a factor of the assistant's preferred style of play--but there could be different phrasing for different situations.
33) Customizable (and saveable) views for rosters, etc., including options to see 'hidden' information when in commissioner mode. For example, related to #4 from my previous post ('Clear delineation between ratings for international team and club team, with easy access to both...'), the consensus rankings aren't all that helpful when I'm managing a low-level international team and a higher-level professional team. Instead, I might want to see 'international ability (stars, scout)', 'international ability (stars, consensus), or even (in commissioner mode) 'offensive ability' and 'offensive potential ability'. The data is part of the game; we might as well be able to see it and use it.
34) Ability to edit fitness (in commissioner mode). It is possible to remove injuries, but not to bring someone immediately back to full health. Yes, it is cheating, but that's part of commissioner mode.
35) In commissioner mode, a way to force other teams to trade among each other (or buy/sell players where applicable, or sign/draft someone, etc.) without taking over the team in a way that fires their GM, and without involving a currently-controlled team. For example, I manage Team A in commissioner mode but want Team B to trade with Team C. Perhaps this and some of the other suggestions require something above commissioner mode (e.g., 'deity mode') /> to differentiate between commissioner powers and those not even a commissioner would have.
36) Scouting that can extend beyond 20, or could reach 20 through hiring instead of points.
37) Transparent connections between coaches, what they are coaching/training, and the effects. Especially helpful if I have more coaches than officially-assigned roles. (Do the 'extras' also benefit my team? If so, which ones do what? Or do they sit there and do nothing? And so on.)
38) Ability to add competitions after the game is underway, every July 1. This would likely be limited to nations not currently hosting competitions. For example, I might want to add more u14 national teams so a more diverse set of players will be created (e.g., from South & Central America). It seems weird to have so many countries present in the game with no clear way for the game to create more of them, even if some already have players (e.g., Jamaica). Maybe even just a set of 'world hockey academy'; teams to generate players from nations that don't have u14 teams?
39) Option to add even deeper international competitions. I'm sure it would come with the quality warning, but it might be fun to play in some (very) non-traditional hockey nations.

I would love this as it would effectively allow you to be GM of every team in the league, and construct trades that make sense for both teams, which the AI is not currently very good at.
So you could perhaps also have the option to turn AI trades on/off.

I'd also like a single trade log screen , where you can see all trades that have taken place, without having to scroll through every individual team transaction log. There is not always a news items for every trade.

Also a 'reverse trade' option that would allow you to cancel the trade before any of the players have played a game with their new teams. and would reverse/remove any relevant transaction history.

I'd like to see a few additions:

Trade deadline, where we use our trade blocks and we have to set for each player what we are looking for in return. Example I'm a seller looking to deal my pending UFA I select the type of package I want in return I can select what round picks I'm looking for and or type of prospects. When we get to deadline day there is a screen with offers I receive and, it can be a few rounds where we click next, offers change as other deals are made depending on what teams are looking for.

Same thing If I'm a buyer I put what I'm looking for and the other GM's can counter or accept on the next round. We see what teams in the playoff race are adding with each round, then I'll maybe have to react and make a move.

This concept can be applied to draft day trades and also free agency. Where Free Agency opening day is a few rounds. Maybe with this it can say interested teams in one screen. Something to make those days more interactive and reflect the level of activity in real life.

Next something that is in every game sim sports game I play, (have the option to turn this on or off), but I can have a different head coach, and I can just be the GM, but can still make line changes and lineups before the game starts. I use this in OOTP Baseball "legacy mode" a button under our manager settings. A small change to make the game a little more cooler for someone like me.

Player Role In Game by Game Stats

Would love to see the role assigned to the player in each game under the stats, Game by Game info. This way, you could see how a player is doing at a particular role - or perhaps some stats around performance at a particular role.

I'd love to have an option like in the baseball version where I can disable/enable AI promotion/demotion for certain players. I like to lock in players at the ECHL level for instance to increase their playing time/role and aid their development.

Does the AI move these guys? I assumed if they're contracted to your team specifically and not by the minor league affiliates themselves then the AI will not move those prospects up and down as essentially it's viewing them as 1 club assets, not part of your entire organization. I've also never noticed an example of any of my players being at a different level than the one I sent them to.
