It is OPENING DAY!

We are opening our season in L.A.

The Dodgers have their brand new Ace, brought in from Kansas City, Mark Langston.

The Giants have John Burkett.

I have been moved down in the order this year. I don't care for that.
I am hitting seventh.

I came up with two out in the 2nd and grounded out back to the pitcher.

I started a Priske - Klesko double play to end the 2nd.

I then took care of a Shawn Manuel grounder for the 1st out in the bottom of the 3rd.
I did the same to Usama Jamal al Din for the 2nd out.

I then came up with one out in the 5th and popped out to Manuel at 2nd.

In the bottom of the 5th, I gunned down a runner trying to score on a Jamal al Din fielder's choice for the 2nd out.

I led off the 8th by getting my first hit of the season - a single up the middle.
Stolen base #1.
I went to 3rd on a sac bunt by Timothy McKercher.
I was throw out on an attempted squeeze play by John.

I handled a Gary Sheffield grounder for the 2nd out in the bottom of the 8th.

But Kent Hrbek followed that with a solo homer.

With two out and a man on in the 8th, Matt brought in Mark Ross.
He got his man but we could not score in the 9th and lost the 1-0 game.
