Rising BA and ERA over time

Setting this up as a new thread per request from this thread: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...31#post1716831

In every test of an imported league that I have tried, if I run the sim over 20 years, the BA and ERA steadily increase until the league BA is over .290 and the league ERA is around 6.00. In every prior version (and from what I think the current version's manual is saying), if the League Totals in setup never change, then you should always wind up with similar results year after year (within reason). This has borne out for us over 9 simulated seasons with OOTP 5, 6 and 6.5.

The only two things I changed from default after import were:

1. Setting the League Totals to match our year-end totals for the last season played prior to import.

2. Setting the League Totals Modifier for Strikeouts to .800

I found that if I did not do these two things, then the ERA's were way to low and K's were way too hight at the beginning of the sim. There were 8 or 9 pitchers with 300+ strikeouts and well over 10 with sub-2.00 ERA's. But that's not the point. It doesn't matter what I did to the League Totals, I should get the same results every season, and that's not happening.

I will try this with the default MAL quickstart that comes with the game to see if it's just with the imported league that this occurs.

OK, I have isolated the problem to imported leagues. I tried using the Fictional quickstart that comes with the game, setting up a new Fictional league, the MAL quickstart and setting up a new standard league. I even tried messing with the starting year on a Fictional league to match the imported one. They all work fine.

But with every imported league, I get the problem of BA rising by .050 to .100 per season and ERA rising by around 0.200 per season.

I tried leaving all the defaults. I tried setting the league totals to match our last season. I tried with minors. I tried without minors. I tried with AI doing lots of stuff (trades, drafts, etc.). I tried with most AI shut off. I even tried with totally messed up league totals that give bad results the first year.

It happens every, single time.

Solonor, I sent you a PM. As soon as you read it, PM me back and we'll get this taken care of.

I tried to PM back, but got the message "f.montoya has exceeded their stored private messages quota and can not accept further messages until they clear some space."

So, which one do you want? I have quicksaves from setups with no minors that are set up to sim as fast as possible, as well as full-blown setups with all minors and everything.

Plus, I sent our 6.5 league files to SI before the game was released, so someone there should still have them. Remember the whole "send us your league files and we'll test convert them for you" thing? I never heard back on that. Maybe this is why?

I think this issue can be considered addressed in Patch 2!

The initial stats upon conversion are still very pitcher-dominated. However, I can now tweak the League Totals and run the game 20 years into the future, and the stats stay consistent over time.
