Major PBP - HOME RUN PROBLEM

In PBP Mode.

Well what can I say. After applying the new patch and playing the game further more into my mangerial career with the white sox I started to laugh so much it made my weekend.

O.k. let's get to it. I'm managing the White Sox against the Twins in MLB season game. I'm leading 5 -0. In the 6th inning the Twins come out and hit 4 home runs. After the 3rd home run I sub in a new pitcher and guess what, yep they hit a home run. Come the 7th ining the Twins continued to hit home runs. They scored 9 runs in 2 inings and 6 of them were home runs. Now is this realistic. Do you see the defending world champions going down like that?. This is not right, this needs to be fixed. At the end of the game the Twins had 6 batters with home runs in the game. 3 of the Twins players didn't hit a home run. Now is this a problem? is this realistic against the defending world champions?.

It's rigged.

SI GAMES PLEASE FIX THIS. You need to stop the opposition coming out with 10 ft baseball bats. I'm willing to help and if you need further information please let me know.

Pittsburgh, May 26, 2006

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburghers always love a good fireworks show.

Friday night, the 29,247 fans on hand at PNC Park were treated to two for the price of one as the Pittsburgh Pirates' bats upstaged the postgame festivities by unleashing a pyrotechnic display of their own in a 12-5 win over the visiting Houston Astros.

The Bucs' season-high 16-hit offensive attack was highlighted by a fourth inning in which they scored seven runs, hit three home runs and sent 11 men to the plate to overcome a 4-2 deficit.

Your kidding me right? I would say this was a problem, if teams were belting out 6 hrs a game against teams. Close this thread.

Here's another one (the Reds had been 12-6 before that game):

April 22, 2006

The Brewers tied a Major League record by hitting five home runs in one inning and starter Dave Bush pitched a four-hitter as Milwaukee beat the Cincinnati Reds, 11-0, before 35,768 fans on Saturday.

---

No offense to the original poster, but that complaint reads like a parody of many actual bug reports around here. Unlikely events are supposed to happen rarely, not "not at all".

This one time I was watching the Tigers face the Rangers and the score was 6-4 going into the 5th inning when the Tigers started getting all these hits and they kept getting them until they scored 8 runs. Three different pitchers and to get three outs! Ridiculous! Then what was even worse is that the Rangers came back in the bottom of the 5th and scored 10 runs! It took the Tigers three pitchers to get three outs! Coincidence? I think not! Eventually both teams scored another run and the Rangers ended up winning it in the bottom of the 10th by a final score of 16-15. That's not realistic at all! SI, fix it!

Oh wait... http://retrosheet.org/boxesetc/B05080TEX2004.htm

Baseball is the same sport where you can get shutout 22-0 (See: New York Yankees vs Cleveland Indians) and still wind up winning your division (See: New York Yankees).

Also, OOTP does not know names or teams.

Wasn't it back in '03 when the Red Sox put up 14 or so in the first against Florida?

Lets not forget this:

http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/B08050CLE2001.htm

That Mariner's team won 116 games, no way they blow a 14-2 seventh inning lead.

Why is it trolls almost always post crap like this, then go away? One hard {ping} on the crap sonar is when the original poster never defends his BS.

Yup, they scored 14 in the 1st, 10 of which were before making an out.

Sorry

I apologise to all if this is the case. Though if you read what I said carefully you would understand. Against the world champions.

I'm also talking about 6 players hitting home runs. Some of your posts state good hitters hitting several home runs?. I know it's possible for a good hitter to hit several home runs in a game. Though when you see several hitters who are not popular in batting stats they all some how generate home run's after several others have. Taking into consideration changing pitches in between. Also taking into consideration no ball's or strikes in between the pitches. So let my re phrase this in more detail.

Has there been a team that has hit 6 HOME RUNS in a row without a strike, ball or walk in between pitches. I mean every throw was a home run hit. Let me here you now.

regards

Your first post didnt actually say there were six CONSECUTIVE home runs. At least not as I read it. You said four homers in one inning. Thats been done before. Its not all rare. In fact the Brewers hit 5 homers against the Reds in one inning in April of this year.

But if you had 6 consecutive home runs on 6 pitches that should definitely be reported as a bug cuz thats never happened and never should. Its even pretty rare during home run derby.
