40 Man Roster Issues

Hello all. I started a historical league with the 2019 MLB rosters and a fantasy draft. Now, when I look at my 40 man roster, there are a couple of players listed from other minor league teams on there. In addition, three are also a couple of free agents on my 40 man and it shows their assigned team as their name. For example, Neil Walker is a free agent, but he shows on my 40 man and the team he is assigned to is "Neil Walker". Any suggestions?

It sounds like the file is corrupt.

Can you try restoring the league from the autosave and see if that fixes things (you might lose some progress with the autosave)

1) Open the game and on the start screen, click on Settings (or Preferences in OOTP 11-14).

2) Now click on the tab "Troubleshooting".

3) Click "Open folder containing saved games".

4) Now open up the league folder you're wanting to restore.

5) Then select all of the .dat files in the folder and back them up (just in case) by copying them to a temporary folder or creating a zipped file with them

6) Open the folder called "auto-save".

7) In there, select all of the ".dat" files and copy them to the league folder (the parent of the current folder) overwriting all of the ".dat" files in the league folder.

Restart the game, reload the save and let me know what you find.

Hello. Shortly after I posted this, work got the best of me and I haven't been able to play the game consistently until now. I just followed your instructions and I am still showing players on my 40 man from other teams. Any suggestions?

Hi everyone. I am still looking for a resolution to this issue, so if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. I took the steps that were suggested in this message and it did not change anything. Hopefully someone can assist.

Not trying to be a grumpy old man

but I hate it when someone posts an issue is fixed without stating how it was fixed

If the actual fix is posted it may save the next guy some time and effort

So, how did you fix it?
